If Icy Dock MB994SP-4S is offering more than what you require then Icy Dock MB991IK-B is another alternative solution for you. In short Icy Dock MB991IK-B could be considered as a simplified version of Icy Dock MB994SP-4S which is only able to support a single 2.5" drive bay in 3.5" form factor instead of quad drive bays supportability in 5.25" form factor.

Its on folks, after a few years of being stonewalled, XSR is back working with OCZ; and what a good way to get back into the swing of things. Today it’s the OCZ Vertex 2 120GB SSD that we’re looking into; hopefully it’s not the last one we’ll do either, so I better do I good job; though I can’t give them an easy time either, what a dilemna.

As the first drive to be based on the new SandForce SF-2281 controller the OCZ Vertex 3 claims to offer read speeds of 550MB/sec and write speeds of 500MB/sec. The question is, will it hold up under closer scrutiny in our other benchmarks that put its other performance credentials to the test?

USB flash drives have had many adjectives used to describe them: portable, handy, easy, ubiquitous. One word we haven't used enough to describe them though, is fast. Taking advantage of the extra bandwidth afforded by the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed bus, the Patriot Supersonic 32GB promises speeds faster than what most hard drives can deliver. Can it make good on those claims? Let's find out.

USB 3.0 was released in the not so distant past and personally I feel that it never really took off at the pace that was hoped for. There is one reason why this happened, and one reason only. The interface was there, but the peripherals wasn't and what good is a connection if you haven't got the device to make full use of it?

We recently had a look at the 120 GB version of the OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G and found it to be a very capable drive that competed with the top drives in its class. Now we've got our hands on the 240 GB version and did our usual tests to determine the overall performance. You might be surprised at the results we received - we were. Have a look at the article to see what we are talking about.

As USB 3.0 is slowly becoming integrated into more products such as the latest generation of PC motherboards more companies are releasing products to take advantage of this technology’s speed gains. Kingston created one of the 1stUSB 3.0 portable drives with the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 back in 2010. Recently they released the Generation 2 version of this drive the aptly named DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 Generation 2 (G2).

The first version of Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 was announced on Sep 2011 with rated read/write speeds at 80/60MBps and eight months later Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 G2 was officially announced with greater performance; 100/70MBps. The improvement is mainly due to the new native controller chip on Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 G2 which boosts up the performance about 15 - 35%.

The controversy surrounding OCZs lack of inclusion of the Revo 3x2 240GB SSD in its product specifications is about to come to an end. The SSD Review has just received word from Jessica Luken, Global Marketing Director of OCZ, that the Revo 3x2 240GB version is prepping for release and has a product code of RVD3X2-FHPX4-240G - 84202402723. Can you say 200,000 IOPS for under $700? Most likely the result of our Revo 3x2 review title, "1.5GB/s Read 1.25GB/s Write As Little As $699", The SSD Review was flooded with e-mails asking for confirmation after OCZ initially posted Revo 3x2 information, listing only 480 and 960GB configurations of the Revo 3x2. Results of our queries at that time resulted in the quote "Down The Road" and threads flooded the internet with the theme, 'What happened to the Revo 3x2 240GB?'
