Having already served up a 128GB 840 Pro RAID 0 review we know that the fastest MLC based two drive array you can buy today is a Samsung 840 Pro array. Today we have for your viewing pleasure a larger 256GB 840 Pro two drive array. The 256GB 840 Pro is slightly faster than a 128GB 840 Pro and ever so slightly slower than the 512GB 840 Pro (which as you will see very soon in an up-coming review is the holy grail of MLC based drives)..

Somewhere between the speed of Solid State Drive technology and the reliability of value-priced Hard Disk storage is the Seagate Barracuda XT. The industry's first SATA 6GBps HDD features 2TB of data storage capacity, and is also the first product to receive compliance with the third generation SATA controller interface. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the Seagate Barracuda XT hard drive against a cross section of competing storage products using the ASUS P7P55D Premium (Marvell 88SE9123) and Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD6 (Marvell 88SE912 motherboards, comparing the model ST32000641AS hard disk on the both SATA-6G controllers as well as Intel's P55/ICH10 SATA-3G chipset.

How does one explain a card like this? I know - above top of the line! Or Greater than. . .? I say this because SanDisk's new Compact Flash(CF) card line, Extreme Pro, with it's 16, 32, and 64 GB options, has more speed than we have need... for... sorry about the rhyme. I suppose I mean to say more speed than you could ever need, but of course that is not really true. The SanDisk Extreme Pro's specs out perform most professional cameras including the Canon 5D Mark II. We'll check out if all this speed is worth it, after the break.

After releasing the rugged Armor A30 model, Silicon Power went ahead and upgraded it with a new Armor A60 model, which has passed the military drop-test standards (MIL-STD 810G), including the specific height free fall test of 122cm. Additionally, the product is water resistant by supporting the IPX4 standard while the internal Toshiba MQ01ABB200 drive is equipped with a G-force sensor for protecting itself when large vibrations are detected or when it falls off the surface.

StarTech.com is a retailer that specialises in hard-to-find niche computing and electronics items built for businesses, but today we’ll be looking at an item of interest to any gamer or media consumer. It’s called the InfoSafe, and it’s an unusual proposition – a kind of high end hard drive enclosure that supports two 2.5″ SATA drives. As well as the dual layout, there is support for a number of configurations and advanced connectivity options. Let’s have a look at whether this premium enclosure is worth the extra dosh.

Vertex 460, another OCZ SSD which is priced a little bit lower than the previously reviewed Vector 150, features the same Toshiba 19nm Toggle-mode NAND, along with the lower-clocked Barefoot 3 M10 controller and 512MB of DDR3 1333 Micron RAM.

Not every flash drive can be fast, or can be pretty, or can be sturdy, big, small, capacious, easy to find, and discreet. No, some are just a little ugly. PNY’s Attache bears little of the elegance its name may be associated with, but it’s safe to say it does have a few things going for it.

The first thing that IOCELL wants you to know about the NetDISK 351UNE is that it is not a NAS. It is a network-direct-attached-storage (NDAS) device. It does not function as a server, and there are distinct benefits to that. For one: size, cost and complexity go way down. Two: it does not use TCP/IP to connect to your network, which eliminates all TCP/IP-based methods for hacking your data. Three: it's faster, since there's ess overhead to manage. Sometimes, less is more. Benchmark Reviews has tested several full-range NAS products in the last few months, now let's investigate what advantages a more tightly focused approach can provide.
