ICY DOCK brings forth a new product today in the ICYRAID dual bay USB 3.0 enclosure, and it also supports RAID.

When it comes to external hard drive enclosures ICY DOCK is a name you should know. They have been making enclosures for quite some time now. Their enclosures are always quality-made and have sleek designs so you are not ashamed to have them sitting on your desk. The enclosure we are taking a look at today is no different. The MB559U3S-1S is a single-bay enclosure that not only is ultra thin, but also features two of the fastest connections available, USB 3.0 and eSATA. Read on as we take a look!
The Icy Dock ICYRaid MB662U3-2S, unlike other external USB 3.0 enclosures has the hardware capability to run drives in RAID, independent of the PC. The ICYRaid MB662U3-2S replaces the discontinued MB662UEAB-2S which used the older USB 2.0 and FireWire connection with a much faster and more widely used USB 3.0 port. Users can install a pair of two 3.5” HDDs up to 4TB in capacity each for a total of up to 8GB of storage inside the Icy Dock MB662U3-2S. To cool both drives when they are continuously used, the ICYRaid MB662U3-2S is equipped with a 40mm Sunon MAGLev fan that operates silently and can be adjust through a built-in fan controller. Users can configure drives installed inside the MB662U3-2S in RAID 0, RAID 1, BIG, or JBOD just by simply moving the RAID toggle switch and pressing the reset button while the enclosure is on. No further steps are required, other than formatting the drives or adjust the partition when necessary of course. The Icy Dock ICYRAid MB662U3-2S is compatible with either Mac or PC and comes with a three-year limited warranty.

The Icy Dock FlexCage MB975SP-B is able to fit five 3.5" SATA HDDs in three 5.25" drive bays using a trayless design. The FlexCage MB975SP-B is powered by three SATA power connectors and is cooled by an 80mm fan with Icy Dock Smart Cooling technology. This 80mm cooling fan can automatically detect whether a drive is installed inside the FlexCage MB975SP-B and can also shut down by itself when not needed. The FlexCage MB975SP-B’s 80mm fan can easily be removed and replaced with any 80mm fan using a 2-pin or a 3-pin connector. Just like other Icy Dock FlexCage devices, the MB975SP-B’s body is built from aluminum which helps dissipate heat while providing excellent protection and durability.
Icy Dock shipped us a very high quality three HDD into two 5.25" bay adapter that looks amazing and is very functional. The dual USB 3.0 ports on the front are just the icing on the Icy Dock.
