On our table today we have the Silicon Power Velox V70 SATA 3 SSD where SP is another to combine the power of the LSI SandForce SF-2281 Flash Storage Processor (FSP) with Intel synchronous MLC memory. If NAND alone makes great partners, the V70 is in good hands as we have seen the same type and capacity in the OCZ Vertex 4, Kingston HyperX, ADATA XPG SX900, Comay Venus 3, as well as a few other top rated SSDs.

Given the advances in mobile devices whether it be tablets, phones or laptops the ability to access, update and maintain our content remotely is becoming more important. One company aiming to make this easy for us is SilverStone through their DC01 network storage device. Today we will be taking a look at the DC01 and finding out how it could improve our media experience when at home or out and about.

A few years ago network attached storage (NAS) devices were only targeted to businesses and enthusiasts, but in the age of digitized music, photos, and movies, most people find themselves wanting a centralized way to manage all of their digital content. SilverStone has come up with the DC01 network attached storage device to fill this niche. With powerful features and simple management, SilverStone has designed a product to please both enthusiasts as well as non-tech savvy consumers.

Back in the day when computers were first introduced to me, I was quite intrigued at the fact that such a thing can store so much data with so many files (Even though the term "gigabyte" is still quite foreign at the time, haha). And being the unfortunate person that I am, I was always stuck with the same old computer for the longest time in the world. I could not care any less about what or how many computers I could have laying around the house, or the fact that the school computer lab had about twenty to thirty times in both quantity and quality of computers. This was about to change approximately ten years down the road. With the rapidly growing amount of storage space that I use, I soon found out that keeping up with syncing data between multiple computers simply by backing up to a single hard drive is an impractical solution. Of course, there were better ways around that, and such solutions included using a network attached storage. The problem is that I did not have the drive to get my hands on any sort of NAS until... well, now. Some say owning any NAS is a good start to accessing data on the network. Others say they are all for high end technology to save money in the long run. All we know is our review today is a NAS sold by SilverStone -- specifically, the SilverStone DC01. The SilverStone DC01 we have here today is a very lightweight and compact system designed to save space, and provide basic NAS features for the typical home user. Powering it on with a few adjustments here and there, and having everything set up and nicely displayed, I'm sure many of you will appreciate a more convenient way to access your data. The best part of it all? Well, SilverStone says it is "Mac inspired". Hmm. Read on to see what it is like!

This year network storage is becoming more popular as the growing adoption of computers has meant that most households have several computers and sometimes even a games console or two. To support this market Silverstone have created a product that is rather unique in its innovation – the DC01S.

Sometimes it can be hard to find an easy, affordable and reliable solution for external PC backups in one product. I have used several HDD enclosures and NAS products from several different makers and never really fell in love with any of them. Most of them have extremely complicated menus that you have to sift through to try and figure out how to change the RAID setup of the device. Then you have to wait several hours just for it to format a few hundred Gigs of space. In the past, when deciding on a RAID capable enclosure you really need to prioritize what is important to you and ask yourself a few questions. How much does it cost? How reliable it is? How easy is it to use? Keep all of those questions in mind as you read this review and I think you will be pleasantly surprised with this enclosure.

Today I have with me one of SilverStone’s newest external hard drive enclosures: the DS322. The DS322 has dual 3.5" SATA hard drive bays with RAID support and a USB 3.0 interface for the fastest data transfer speeds possible. So, without further ado, let’s take a closer look at this great new HDD enclosure from SilverStone.
