Today we have one of the 320 Series SSDs connected to our test system and will find out what it offers and whether it can compete with its main competition, a SandForce based model of similar capacity, in a selection of real world and synthetic tests.

As a follow-up to their very successful X25-M series of drives, Intel has launched their 320 Series drives which feature a host of new features while being driven by their own proprietary controller. With the SATA 3Gbps SSD market being so crowded, can Intel tempt consumers to look their way? See the outcome of the testing and judge for yourself.

There has never been such a wide selection of solid state drives available on the market before from so many different manufacturers. This can make it confusing for some consumers, when it comes to deciding on a purchase. KitGuru spend a lot of time looking at the latest performance SSDs like the Patriot Wildfire and OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS, but many people are willing to compromise a little on performance, to save some cash.

In only three short years, the solid state drive industry exploded from a small handful of SSD controllers compared to nearly fifty different versions that have collectively appeared on the retail market. Of the most prolific designs, Intel continues to earn its reputation for reliable solid-state storage solutions. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the 20GB Intel 311 Series Larson Creek SSD model SSDSA2VP020G2E. Built upon 34nm SLC Compute NAND Technology, the Intel 311 is capable of sequential read speeds up to 200 MB/s and 40,000 combined IOPS. The Intel 311 SSD is optimized for Intel Smart Response Technology, which debuts with the Intel Z68-Express chipset and works with the entire Sandy Bridge series.

Intel's recently released 310 Series SSDs take a different approach to the other models in their product catalogue. The 310 series is based on a mini-PCIe technology, is a similar size to a laptop Wi-Fi adapter but still claims desktop like performance. Today we take a look at the 80GB model to find out what it offers the market in a selection of real world and synthetic tests against a standard 5400rpm laptop drive.

It wasn't 2 hours ago that I received a call from DHL stating that they had received a rush package from Intel I might be interested in. It hasn't been 10 minutes since I tested the Intel 310 Series Mini PCIe SSD for the first time. The internets first tests (I think) can be seen in our Benchmarks Forums.

The Copy Station leaves nothing to chance, and you’re instructed clearly by bright yellow stickers the bay to put which hard drive into so, that you have no excuse for overwriting the wrong drive by mistakenly copying the wrong way. The blocks to right of the stickers provide support for 2.5” drives such as SSDs, while being sprung loaded, so that they press down out of the way when used with full sized 3.5” HDDs.

ITShootOut.com have just released a review of the InnoDisk nanoSSD 64GB drive. This is easily the smallest SATA storage device we have ever seen, measuring just 4cm x 2.5cmx0.7cm in size. Unlike most drives that require a SATA cable the nanoSSD instead plugs into the slot directly, making it perfect as a tool for on-site PC engineers and those who have exhausted their allocation of expansion bays.

The EonNAS Pro series is comprised of Infortrend’s SOHO/SMB solutions and they come in 2, 5, or 8 drive variants. For the most part, all of their current x10 models come with 2GB of memory and are powered by an Intel Atom Dual-Core 2.13Ghz Processor. They do have a couple variants of the EonNAS Pro 850 which ramp up the installed memory to 8GB of memory and the processor to an Intel Core i3 Dual Core 3.3Ghz chip. In today’s review, we will be taking a look at the EonNAS Pro 510 specifically, which Infortrend sent to us with 4 x 1TB drives installed.
