The RevoDrive X2 is essentially an original RevoDrive with a daughter card piggybacked on top. This daughter card adds two additional SandForce controllers and room for more memory chips, bringing the total controller count to four. A RAID0 configuration manages the four controllers and memory chips, resulting in what OCZ proclaims is a blazing fast PCIe SSD solution. We were pretty impressed with the original RevoDrive and can only wonder if the follow-up product is equally as impressive.

The Kingston SSDNow V100 boasting speeds of up to 250Mb/s, we put it to the test to see if this drive can truly keep up with the claims of its manufacturer. Come see the results!

Now we are going to take it a little further with the Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid drive. This little guy is a standard 2.5" 7200 RPM laptop drive with 32MB cache and a beautiful 4GB SSD attached. This SSD brings the performance up considerably. So, what are we going to do with it? Well Seagate gave us two, so we are going to RAID them in a RAID 0 and short stroke them to see what kind of performance we can get. Just like Artiom did with the VelociRaptor. We are directly comparing this to the SSD in Artiom's last editorial using the VelociRaptors.

ADATA started to introduce speedy USB 3.0 flash drives to the market, one of them being the Superior Series S102 16GB model. These products have different read/write speeds depending on the capacity and thanks to their very high read speed performances we can use them successfully for booting Live USB Linux distributions or for transferring the Windows 7/Vista install kits, to speed up the OS installation.

If you already have USB 3.0 on your shiny new PC then it is time to start adding accessories that take advantage of USB 3.0's speed. There isn't a geek or layperson that I know who doesn't already have at least a small collection of thumb drives. They served their purpose well, but it is now time to start retiring all of those small, slow drives and step up to a single, large, fast USB 3.0 thumb drive.

The Western Digital Scorpio Black represents a strong contender for "best laptop hard drive on the market" and is surprisingly affordable. Watch us put it through its paces, and see if it lives up to its potential.

The 1TB Constellation.2 isn’t going to break any speed records with 115MB/s read and write but it brings to the table a unique set of features. Let’s start with the fact that by maintaining platter disks it makes these drives relatively affordable at just over $200 for a whopping 1TB enterprise quality space using SATA 6Gb/s interface. The 6Gb/s interface doesn’t boost the speed up too much but we do see small advantages over SATA 3Gb/s.

Hard drive enclosures can be play an important role in our computer centric lives, they’re great for taking stuff with you. You can get them in big and small sizes and they certainly come in all shapes and designs. Today for review I’ve got the latest enclosure from Thermaltake called the Max5G that uses USB 3.0 so you get the best performance. The Max5G also features two 80mm cooling fans and it looks good too.
