It wasn’t so long ago that we broke news of the Intel/SandForce partnership and everyone told us we were nuts. Once again, we are here to publish another SSD first and Intel seems to be front and center once again. Our SSD analysis today will examine the Intel Series 330 SATA 3 SSD, the value priced little brother of the Intel 520, and the similarity between the two is rather odd. In fact, one could almost consider them twins as they contain exactly the same SandForce processor and model of memory.

We are all curious as to what 2.5” SATA 6 SSD to buy, as there are so many choices on the market. The Zalman F1 Series 120GB SSD that we have here for review for you today, is one of the latest SandForce controlled Solid State Drive and specifically used the SF-2281 controller...

This week I had a blast working with a Intel 520 series 240GB Solid State Drive, this thing is as closest to a perfect woman as your gonna get. Its works really fast, does it quietly and doesn’t complain at all not even after a full 10hrs workload :-).
No seriously, solid state drives are a must have these days. Imaging putting one in your notebook saving energy and increasing your workflow as well. I have been watching the prices from the start when they still were sky high, nowadays it’s becoming more and more affordable and even for the common folk like me.

Today we will be reviewing the Monster Digital 400GB Le Mans SSD. This SSD brings with it a hefty amount of overprovisioning with Toshiba Toggle NAND and an SF-2281 under the hood. Monster certainly isn’t the first name that pops into mind when one thinks of SSDs. Branching out into the new market of high performance SSDs is breaking new ground for this long standing company, so we intend to see how the newly formed Monster Digital division fares with their first release.

A little over a month ago, we here at The SSD Review took Corsair’s new Accelerator line of SSDs to the test, focusing specifically on the 60GB model and how drive-caching technology affected system performance. Astounded by the results, we were curious as to how the Accelerator performed at opposite ends of the capacity spectrum. Hence, those of you looking for a more affordable caching drive are in luck as we take a fresh look at the 30Gb flavored Corsair Accelerator SSD.

A few days ago we looked at the MyDigitalSSD SMART SSD which gave us a peak of what has become an ever growing mSATA SSD market. That SSD, based on the ADATA XPG SX300 architecture, is the fastest and highest capacity mSATA SSD available to date. The MyDigitalSSD Bullet Proof 3 256GB SSD is the little brother of the SMART and, although it is not ‘SandForce Driven’ and is a bit lower in performance, it’s capacity and price point make it a definite contender in the mSATA market.

As time goes by more and more of you ask me about my opinion surrounding NAS units and more specifically which ones i consider to offer the best bang for your buck. Things however are never black and white when we are talking about technology so in the end it all comes down to what your needs are and how much you are willing to spend on it. So if you just want to buy a NAS Server to use just as a download station then even the entry-level Qnap TS-119P II (review soon) will be more than enough for that purpose so there's really no need for you to spend much. On the other hand if you want an NAS Server for multiple usages, for example use as a download station, media station, FTP server and webserver then you would do well to choose something more powerful like the Qnap TS-219P II. Performance however is only part of what makes a NAS server and so aside you deciding what use you need it for you also need to know how many drives bays you may require. Up until today we have mostly focused on 2 and 4 bay mid-end solutions but since many of you asked today we will be taking a look at the latest TurboNAS TS-469 Pro which as the name suggests is the latest high-end 4bay mid-end (SMB) solution from QNAP.
