The first version of Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 was announced on Sep 2011 with rated read/write speeds at 80/60MBps and eight months later Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 G2 was officially announced with greater performance; 100/70MBps. The improvement is mainly due to the new native controller chip on Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 G2 which boosts up the performance about 15 - 35%.

For today’s review we will look at the DataTraveler 160 USB drive. At the recent Digital Experience show in New York City Kingston was kind enough to provide us a review sample.

The DataTraveler Elite 3.0 is a capless drive, which means folks like myself who invariably lose their caps can rest easy. With USB 3.0 speeds of 70MB/s read, 30MB/s write it should be fast enough for most users.

Kingston have really jumped on the USB 3.0 format and have released several different pen drive and storage options for the platform. Today we take a quick look at another one of them, the Data Traveller Ultimate G2. It’s got a 64GB capacity and a thick aluminium casing. Well protected? Probably. Fast? Let’s see.

The Kingston DT Workspace USB 3.0 Flash Drive is a ‘LSI SandForce Driven’ SSD that can start it’s own OS on any computer, compliments of the new Microsoft Windows 8 Enterprise Windows to Go (WTG) environment. As of today, technology has taken us to a place where it simply isn’t necessary to be stuck to a single system, or lug around a laptop any longer. WTG allows your system, on USB, to go where you go and start from just about any computer. Our review today is going to provide a bit of a background of Windows 8 Enterprise Windows To Go and, more importantly, we hope to provide a glimpse of the Kingston Data Traveler Workspace Flash Drive that even Kingston would never have expected, not to mention some great benchmarks.

Most of us use a USB pen drive on some level or another, whether it is to keep offline document backups or to move files between work and home machines. Today we are looking at the new Kingston Data Traveler Ultimate 64GB drive which is the first USB 3.0 pen drive we have tested.

Today Kingston just launched their first USB 3.0 flash drive called the Data Traveler Ultimate 3.0 and I’ve got it for review, specifically the 64gb version. This is, as I said, the first USB 3.0 flash drive from Kingston, so I was very curious as to how it performs and it does well. The DT Ultimate 3.0 exceeds the speeds that Kingston has listed in the specs, which is of course a very good thing and something that I’m glad to see. It’s Kingston though so I expected them to well honestly…. Read on to see the drive itself and see the test results for yourself.

Data is becoming a aspect of people's lives more and more as of late with users needing more space than ever before and with flash drives dropping down in price as more manufacturers are developing them and speeds increasing, there is an abundance of choice out there.

The Kingston Class 10 UHS-I (U1) SDXC 64GB Ultimate Card fills just that void. It is a simple solution to a typically confusing scenario and we are going to analyze the Kingston Card in a very simple format, allowing you to understand the terms that confuse us so and arming you with the knowledge to understand why a quality card is so important in today’s camera world. As a bonus, we are also going to report on the new Kingston MobileLite G3 Card Reader, and I will be the first to admit, this is one of the handiest things available for the camera enthusiast.
Storage
For today’s review we have the Kingston Class 10 UHS-1 Ultimate SDXC 64GB card. Kingston has been making reliable, high performance memory for many years. This SDXC card is no exception. It supports UHS-I technology and supports Class 10 performance when used in a non-UHS-I capable device. What is UHS-I? UHS stands for Ultra High Speed. The “-I” denotes that the card should have at least a minimum write speed of 10MB/s, aka, Class 10 performance. You will commonly see this as a “U” with a “1” inside it. The Kingston Ultimate easily meets this spec. and is rated at 45MB/s write and 90MB/s read speeds.
