Since their 2011 acquisition of SSD controller manufacturer Indilinx, OCZ has come to market with a variety of new drives over the last year that are all based on the latest Indilinx controller. One of the drive lineups that's seen some new models was the mid-end Agility series, with the release of the Indilinx Infused powered Agility 4. Having an Agility 3 drive that's still in regular use, I couldn't wait to see what the latest Agility 4 had to offer.

Intel is back again with another MLC/SandForce Based drive sporting Intel’s customized firmware. This drive is the newest in Intel’s 300 Series of Solid State Drives. The Intel SSD 335 we are going review today is basically an update to the 330. The 335 is sporting faster and more power efficient 20nm NAND Flash Memory. There are probably some firmware improvements to go along with the newer NAND but overall the 335 is a 330 with 20nm NAND Flash.

If you’re multi-tasking user that often deals with compressed data like videos, music and other compressed data then you really can’t do much better than Corsairs’ Neutron GTX series. Neutrons have the smoothest most consistent performance of any drives we’ve ever reviewed as well as the most consistent performance over time as the drive becomes well used. Consistency is valued more than any other trait in the enterprise sector and because the LAMD Amber FSP at the heart of Neutron was born from the enterprise sector it’s really no surprise that Neutrons have superior consistency over time than any other consumer based drives.

Well-built, feature-rich NAS devices don’t need to be expensive – and NETGEAR’s ReadyNAS Duo v2 proves it. As a “prosumer” model, it aims to deliver all that a home and small business user alike would need, so read on as we discover whether or not this $200 NAS offering should be in your sights.

APH Networks reviews the OCZ Agility 4 256GB. Is it still one of the best mainstream performance drives?

For a number of years, OCZ have been producing drives that have set not only technological milestones but also performance milestones as well. Such milestones have included being the first to debut the SandForce controller, the first 1TB SSD and in 2011 they unveiled the highest capacity SAS SSD at close to 1TB. Performance wise, OCZs have been at the forefront of what is possible and the Vertex 4 that we looked at earlier in the year was the latest to tickle our SSD tastebuds and show us why OCZ are one of the best in their class.
The acquisition of Indilinx last year was a huge step forward in the companies history and this has meant that overall manufacturing costs have come down thus giving the end user a top level drive but at an even more affordable price. Since this acquisition, the Barefoot 3 controller is the first ground up design that they have created, tailored entirely to their specifications and this means that they can take performance to the next level, so now couldn't be a better time to bring out a new line of drives.
OCZ have made this line of drives with not performance or price first in line, but quality, reliability and stability. This is not to say that they're going to be B grade in relation to the Vertex drives. Performance is still high on the agenda and following the hype that the Vector has been getting, its time to see of OCZ can set another milestone and release a new yardstick to the SSD market.

Four 2.5-inch disks connected via Thunderbolt, it's definitely an interesting prospect. This way you have an extremely fast combination of disks with lots of storage capacity in a fairly compact package. If we have any complaints about the J4 it's that it's currently only available with hard disks. And while the performance of these 500 GB, 5400 rpm, 2.5-inch hard disks is quite good, we can imagine that many people prefer choosing their own. For example, four 1 TB disks or four SSDs. Or what about a couple SSDs combined with two conventional hard disks, that way you have the best of both worlds.

The holidays are past us and hopefully you're left with a wad of cash in your checking account after depositing all of the checks received because no one understands what the items are on your wish list. OCZ has a worthy upgrade if you're ready for ultimate PC performance.

With the growing popularity of home and small office NAS devices, demand has been growing for a new kind of drive: one that can stand being run all day, every day, but won't break the bank with excessive power draw. Western Digital has developed a new line to fill that role, and today we'll be taking a look at their latest and greatest, the Red 4TB.
