If you are long time readers you know that we always advocate more storage, fast storage, and redundancy of storage. We have covered a LOT of external and internal drives of varying capacity, speeds, and interfaces over the years. The need for storage hasn't decreased. Rocstor makes solutions that address exactly this kind of need. We have here today the Rocstor ROCPRO 900e Desktop Portable External Hard Drive.

Pretty much the top three things most of us (casual users, enthusiasts and gamers) take into account when out to get a brand new USB flash drive are capacity, price and speed (not necessarily in that order). However there are many people out there such as professionals and enterprise/industrial users who also require the best possible protection for their sensitive data something which normal flash drives can't offer. Because of that there are several manufacturers out there who produce some of the most innovative USB flash drives money can buy featuring not only "top secret" grade AES-256 data encryption algorithms but even secure data destruction if someone tries to hack them (unauthorized access). Kingston has been manufacturing such flash drives for a long time and right now they have a pretty long line for someone to choose from, however today we will be starting off with their entry level model, the DataTraveler Vault Privacy Edition 8GB.

When it comes to portable hard drives there are two things you always want. You want the drive to be small enough it is easy to carry around with you and you want the transfer feed to be fast. Today we are taking a look at a portable hard drive that not only is thin and easy to carry with you and is super fast it also looks awesome. I am talking about ADATA’s DashDrive Elite HE720. The HE720 is the world’s first 8.9mm ultra-thin external hard drive. It features USB 3.0 connectivity for super fast transfer speeds and has a stainless steel casing with 9H scratch resistance. Read on as we check this drive out.

We are just months away before the new 5TB mechanical drives make their debut (perhaps sooner) but since price is one of the most decisive factors when choosing a HDD most people still seem to prefer 1TB/2TB models over the larger 3TB/4TB ones. Now as many of you know not only do we always focus to bring reviews of the latest HDD models the industry has to offer but also of the highest capacity variants available. However today we decided to change things a bit and so although we are going to test two brand new HDD models we thought it would be best to test the 1TB variants which should be more appealing to casual users and gamers. So as the title clearly states today on our test bench are the latest 1TB HDD models from Toshiba, the 5700RPM DT01ABA100 and the 7200RPM DT01ACA100.

In this review PCSTATS is checking out Lexar's stylish 64GB JumpDrive Triton - a nice looking retractable thumb drive housed in a weighty metal alloy case. Lexar's USB 3.0 thumb drive is rated for speeds of 155MB/s read and 150MB/s write -- that's pretty quick. For a clearer picture of its capabilities PCSTATS will need to benchmark the Lexar JumpDrive Triton against comparable USB 3.0 drives of similar capacities.
