With its superb performance and unbelievable endurance, Micron continues its assault on the enterprise SSD space with the Micron P320h. This SLC-driven beast features 50PB of endurance and the highest speeds available on a single PCIe slot today.

The Micron P320h HHHL (Half-Height Half-Length) is a Gen 2.1 PCIe SSD capable of churning out 785K 4K random read IOPS and a little over 200K 4K random write IOPS at steady state. With Micron’s stash of SLC NAND flash memory, their custom controller, and some great command line and GUI tools, This PCIe SSD is ready to compete. Having had the P320h in our hands for several months now, it’s been a long process getting the P320h to this point, so it’s a pleasure to finally have the opportunity to see if the wait was worth it.

Consumer reports over the last couple of years have shown that consumers of all types check mostly two things when out to get a new SSD, price (more specifically price/capacity) and performance. The same fortunately doesn't apply for enterprise users since performance and endurance are the two primary concerns but i doubt there's a single company out there that wouldn't like to save some cash when getting new storage media. This has left room for strong competition even in the enterprise market so this is perhaps the only time since the introduction of SSDs (as we know them at least) that we've seen pretty much every major player in the market invest in such models. Micron of course couldn't stay this one out and since their M500DC SSD line (introduced just over a year ago) although it proved to be a worthy opponent to other similar models did cost quite a bit they went ahead and introduced the new M510DC line.

About this time last year, we were reviewing the Crucial M500 960GB This was the first drive to really put 1 TB of flash storage at a price where consumers could realistically own one. In the past year, Micron released the enterprise-focused M500 under their brand. They are now back with the M500DC that shares its roots with both of those drives.

If there was one thing we wouldn’t have predicted, it was the rush of computer enthusiasts lining up to be the first to have what amounts to be the smallest and most powerful consumer storage medium available. For the most part, we have Lenovo to thank for that as millions of Thinkpad owners played a key role in mSATA SSDs flying off the shelves quicker than they could restock. Industry has responded well, however, as mSATA becomes the new ‘SSD Du Jours’ for the new ultra crowd. Our report today is going to be our second of the Micron C400 family, the first being the C400 128GB capacity with today’s being what will soon be the industry standard ultrabook size of 256GB. For those wondering about similarities between the Micron C400 and the newly released Crucial M4 SATA 3 SSD, they are twins. Crucial handles the consumer side of things while Micron deals with the OEM and enterprise world; the sole difference between the two seems to be exterior branding sticker only.

With the much warned and anticipated "digital switchover" being rolled out soon the world over, people are looking to pickup digital TV boxes; if they didn't have one already. While there are subscription packages available, one other option is a freeview box allowing for a wider selection of digital channels, with no monthly charge.

In Zeiten der flächendeckenden DSL Verbreitung ist ein kleines
"Heimnetzwerk" mittlerweile fast normal.
Netzwerkadministrator geworden.

This bundle includes a faster SSD drive than the native MacBook Air models while providing an enclosure for the original Apple SSD. If you can use a screwdriver, then your can swap out your original SSD for the Mercury Aura Pro Express 6G SSD. These drives are designed for MacBook Air 2011 editions and come in 120GB, 180GB, 240GB or 480GB models.

Our report today will examine the Memoright MS-701 mSATA SSD. The MS-701 is the first of its kind as it is the only SATA 3 SandForce Driven mSATA SSD in existence at the 240GB capacity point. Even better news is the fact that Memoright, a company that has remained loyal to enterprise and business sales traditionally, has set up shop in the ‘good ole’ USA and the MS-701 will be available through the consumer channel soon enough. Stay tuned for our update on this!
