Kingston recently announced the Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 Flash drive that is designed for enthusiasts and gamers, and we have been dying to see how fast this drive really is. Kingston has this drive rated up to 225MB/s read and 135MB/s write! Read on to see what we think of this drive and then see what the benchmark numbers reveal about the 64GB drive that we got for testing.

As a follow-up to their very successful X25-M series of drives, Intel has launched their 320 Series drives which feature a host of new features while being driven by their own proprietary controller. With the SATA 3Gbps SSD market being so crowded, can Intel tempt consumers to look their way? See the outcome of the testing and judge for yourself.

I really don't know why exactly but the price drops in everything related with storage media are still going and I’m really afraid that if this goes on for much longer it could actually hurt the entire industry (although price drops are always good for the end user). Still my job is not to be an industry analyst but to test the latest hardware and since it so happens that most people are focused on these price drops i thought it would be nice if we placed yet another one of the latest USB 3.0 flash drives to hit the market under our scope. Well we did exactly that and as pointed out by the title of this review today with us we have the latest DataTraveler Elite 3.0 USB 3.0 64GB Flash Drive by Kingston.

When we look at where a NAS is typically designed to be placed, integration into a home A/V setup is not overly common surprisingly. Whilst there are a countless number of two and four bay systems that offer media playback capabilities, which I will add is great to see for the SOHO markets, their tower like design is not always that convenient to fit in with the DVD players, surround sound systems and game console stack that many of us have underneath our TV’s in the lounge – like the photo above funnily enough which is a quick glimpse into the system that we are taking a look at today.

The Transcend Wi-Fi SD Card has some very interesting features. It can run in peer-to-peer mode, where it serves as access point. It's then possible to connect with your smartphone via the app, or with a laptop via the browser and a web interface. The camera can also connect to a personal personal hotspot, if your smartphone has that feature, in order to share photos via mobile internet. You can also connect to a wireless router.

The one storage drive line that has bucked the trend over the years and managed to create noticeable separation between itself and its contenders/pretenders, and that is Western Digital’s VelociRaptor line. Prior to SSD’s hitting mainstream, the VelociRaptor line, with its 10,000 RPM spindle speed, was “the” pinnacle of performance and was the defacto choice for anyone that put performance before price. Fast forward to present day, where widespread competition is making SSD drives more and more affordable the VelociRaptor line isn’t enjoying the same V.I.P treatment from enthusiasts it once used too. Today we take a look at the new Velociraptor

Plextor's new flagship M5 Pro Xtreme hits our lab in the 256GB capacity size. Can Plextor break into the top performance tier with this product or will Xtreme just be another mainstream drive with aspirations of the crown?
