Desktop docks are nothing new. We first looked at the ThermalTake BlacX two years ago and love the idea of being able to use raw HDDs without opening our computer cases. If you are someone like me with several drives sitting around, the idea is brilliant. The early models had a few shortfalls, though, mainly their reliance on the aging USB 2.0 protocol and placing the power button on the back of the dock. The latter issue was due to the urge to save money at the R&D level. With the button at the back you had to reach around the dock which was kind of a pain in the butt.

The MUKii TransImp TIP-330U3-BK USB 3.0 drive enclosure is easy to use and simplifies the task of turning any 3.5" SATA drive into a portable device. As with other USB 3.0 devices, it is fully backwards compatible to USB 2.0; so even if you have this enclosure before you have USB 3.0 in your computer, it will still function just fine with your current USB 2.0 connections.

Solid State Drives are rapidly changing the computing landscape, and many enthusiasts are using SSD technology in their primary systems to help boost performance. Benchmark Reviews has tested nearly all of the products available to the retail market in this sector, and several do well while others fall flat. It used to be that performance was the largest hurdle for mass storage NAND Solid State Drives, followed by stability, and later price. In this article, we benchmark test the linear bandwidth performance of the Mtron MOBI 3500 3.5-Inch SSD MSD-SATA3535-064 and compares it against the top competition.

Arguably the most critical mainstay behind the inter-connectivity of modern technology devices is the Universal Serial Bus, or USB for short. The connection provides opportunity for an almost limitless level of connectivity that has redefined the way in which we use computing devices. So what does it take to make something as well-defined as USB even better?
And that's where USB 3.1 comes in. A 10Gbps link speed, up to 100W of power delivery, and upcoming widespread application of a new Type-C connector are some of the key features that the new version will usher in.

We were kind of expecting it, but it's nice to see concrete proof that mSATA SSDs are as fast as their 2.5-inch counterparts, despite their small size. The Adata SX300 128GB scores almost exactly the same in every benchmark as the Adata SX900 128GB that is based on the same controller. The Crucial m4 256GB mSATA performs the same as the standard m4 256GB.

Als ein Mix aus NAS und DAS präsentiert sich das MS-Tech LU-373N. Seine große Besonderheit ist nicht nur das Vorhandensein zweier Schnittstellen, sondern vor allem auch sein niedriger Preis.

Have an Android device that's quickly running out of space due to limited internal memory? Have a large collection of apps that refuse to move over to your SD card? If either of these is true, then you need to know about a simple tweak that can be done to forcibly move over many apps to your SD card - all without rooting.

With the gaining popularity of SSDs, it was only a matter of time until we started seeing large capacity external SSDs hit the street and the time has come. Whereas less than seven days ago we had never had an external SSD of 512GB capacity, today I have three 512GB and a 1TB external SSDs sitting in front of me as I type. As an added benefit, we can state right off that these external SSDs are probably the most powerful manufactured to date and surprisingly, all can be thrown in your pocket. Today we are going to rip apart and test the new Monster Digital OverDrive 3.0 External SSD seen here. Monster has just releasedhttp://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=tecx-20&l=ur2&o=1 this SSD in several capacities, ranging from 128GB all the way to 1TB. Regardless of capacity, the form factor is the same and this SSD is smaller and thinner than just about any cell phone at 60mm x 126mm x 8mm.
