PCI-Express solid state drives are fairly new and there are only a handful of these drives available. These devices break the speed barrier on SATA 6GB/s drives by using the PCI-E interface. The most prevalent PCI-E solid state drives our OCZ’s RevoDrive series, but OCZ better watch out because the drive we are taking a look at today has a few features that the RevoDrive’s do not. The OWC Mercury Accelsior PCI-E Solid State Drive comes in capacities from 120GB to 960GB, is upgradable, and is both PC and Mac “plug and play” compatible. Want to learn more? A few years back when we didn't have 3/4TB drives and we were all struggling to make due with 320/500GB ones there was one thing pretty much every single person i know in the IT industry wanted and that was one or more hot-swap 5.25" storage adapters for 3.5" drives. That way everyone could insert a 3.5" drive, take a backup (or share files with friends), remove it and insert another one in just a few seconds (back then docking stations didn't really exist). Now things have changed and so to most people even a single 4TB drive is way too much, however we are not most people and the same can be said about professionals and enthusiasts around the globe. Unfortunately feature-rich and high quality 5.25" hot-swap storage adapters that can hold over three 3.5" drives are extremely hard to come by in the market today and if you are to sacrifice most if not all of your 5.25" drive bays you want to make the most out of it. iStarUSA designs and manufactures industrial grade products for the most demanding of users and lucky for us they also make some of the best 5.25" drive cages for both SATA II/III and SAS I/II drives like the BPN-DE340SS.

As most of you know due to the somewhat recent HDD price drops and the continuous increase in storage capacity needs lately we've been focusing on storage related reviews from internal HDDs (consumer and enterprise grade) and up to external HDDs (both 3.5" and 2.5". However it's important that don't lose sight of what's really important and that is to cover all our readers out there with our reviews and so although we've tested quite a few external 2.5" drives lately most of them were large capacity ones with rugged enclosures. Still although having an external HDD with a rugged housing is never a bad thing because of their size and design it's somewhat difficult to carry them around in your back pocket. Well luckily Toshiba has that covered with their brand new STOR.E SLIM 500GB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive.

If we exclude the unfortunate floods that took place in Thailand roughly a year ago (and forced several factories to cease HDD manufacturing and shipping) HDD prices normally get serious cuts each day that goes by (as do SSD prices) and so currently even the highest capacity 4TB models retail at such prices that can be easily purchased by casual users and gamers around the world. That however mostly stands with entry level models that offer exactly what most users want and that's a good price to capacity ratio without however sacrificing performance. On the other hand however professionals and enterprise users want the best money can buy not only in terms of performance and capacity but also in terms of durability under extreme conditions and that's where enterprise class HDDs like the latest Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5 V.3 (former Constellation ES.3) 4TB SATA III come in.

USB has made it convenient to charge mobile devices, since most people also have access to a computer with an available port. But as the devices add up, those ports become scarce. This is ideal during extended travel, when battery power for items like the Apple iPad or iPhone runs low after a movie. Keeping fully charged is a challenge while traveling, since most people leave their bulky systems at home. This is where a portable USB charge adapter comes in very handy. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the travel-sized Arctic USB Charger PRO 4 Rev 2, model PSAEQ-AC01301-BL.
