Plextor, best known for manufacturing optical drives, has finally stepped into the SSD market with the PX-128M1S, a 128GB drive that uses multilevel cell (MLC) NAND flash memory. The PX-128M1S is a 2.5", SATA 3Gb/s drive, which makes it compatible with most notebooks. It can also be installed into a desktop computer with use of a mounting bracket (not included). With a capacity of 128GB, the Plextor PX-128M1S is well-suited as a boot drive. Unlike 64GB drives which can be a little tight in that regard, you'll have enough space to install Windows, everyday applications like Microsoft Office.
Plextor is a familiar name to many, and they've built their reputation on exactly one thing: optical storage. It should be no surprise then, that they've extended their line to embrace the latest in high-density optical storage. Today we'll be taking a look at the PX-B120U, a USB-bus-powered BD-ROM drive geared for movie playback.

The PX-B310U supports DVD reading and writing in both the + and - formats, as well as reading and writing to DVD-RAM and Dual-Layered DVD discs.

The Plextor PX-B320SA performs flawlessly - not a single hiccup after whipping out about 50 discs. Anyone looking to do a new build and or a diehard movie watcher should take the plunge and pick up the PX-B320SA.

At this point nearly every notebook and ultrabook ships with an mSATA slot. Some products ship with the slot populated and others hide the connector under the keyboard. Upcoming products based on Haswell CPUs will bring more SATA III mSATA ports to notebooks. It's time to find products to populate them.
