OCZ gave everyone a hint of things to come at Computex 2011 with a sneak peak of the third generation of the RevoDrive. We've been impressed with our previous encounters with this SSD line and this time is no different as we give the RevoDrive 3 X2 480GB PCI-E SSD a test drive. Is it fast? Well, how does 1500MB/s reads grab you? Oh yeah, there's TRIM support too!

It had been some time since OCZ released the RevoDrive X2, instead concentrating on various SATA based drives based on the latest Sandforce controller but last month a press release was sent out stating that the RevoDrive 3 and RevoDrive 3 X2 were ready for release. Today we have the higher specification model, the X2 attached to our test system and will be putting it through a selection of real world and synthetic tests to find out if OCZ can meet their claims of 1500MB/s speed and 230k IOPS.

The 240GB sample that we have features blistering performance rated at up to 1000MB/s read and 900MB/s write with 130,000 IOPS. This is 260MB/s read and 180MB/s write faster than the RevoDrive X2, a card that included four SandForce controllers to obtain such speeds. The RevoDrive 3 is able to trump those numbers with only two controllers thanks to new advances across the board.

Our review today is on the OCZ RevoDrive Hybrid 1TB PCIe SSD and we think you will find this unlike any other similar review. We have spent over 45 hours in disecting, ripping apart, examining, testing and analysing this new Hybrid SSD and we think you will be a bit shocked at what we have found. Tag along and enjoy the ride as we lead you through the last week leading up to our final report of the Revo Hybrid! Tons of Photos!

Today's review product is the more consumer friendly evolution of the Z-Drive; the RevoDrive takes the idea of SSDs built on a PCB, combined in RAID and connected to the system via PCIe at a more affordable price. We will be putting the RevoDrive up against one of the top performing SSDs on the market, Crucial's SATA 6GB/s based C300 256GB to find out how the two compare in a selection of synthetic and real world tests

The controversy surrounding OCZs lack of inclusion of the Revo 3x2 240GB SSD in its product specifications is about to come to an end. The SSD Review has just received word from Jessica Luken, Global Marketing Director of OCZ, that the Revo 3x2 240GB version is prepping for release and has a product code of RVD3X2-FHPX4-240G - 84202402723. Can you say 200,000 IOPS for under $700? Most likely the result of our Revo 3x2 review title, "1.5GB/s Read 1.25GB/s Write As Little As $699", The SSD Review was flooded with e-mails asking for confirmation after OCZ initially posted Revo 3x2 information, listing only 480 and 960GB configurations of the Revo 3x2. Results of our queries at that time resulted in the quote "Down The Road" and threads flooded the internet with the theme, 'What happened to the Revo 3x2 240GB?'

USB flash drive is a very common device nowadays but there are some unique or great models in the market which are valuebale for us to take a deep look on them. OCZ is a well known brand for computer memory, power supply as well as USB flash drive. Today let us take a look on OCZ Rally2 performance USB flash drive besides the OCZ ATC (Extreme Performance) and Diesel (Portable) series.

Though the flash drive doesn’t have the classic OCZ cheesegrater heatspreaders, it is completely clad in what looks to me to be lightly-powdercoated aluminum. Which makes it one of the toughest, if simple, flash drives I’ve ever used. The charcoal body has its decorations but nothing that stand out over the blazing orange activity light.
