The OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G previously reviewed at TechREACTION, remains one of the fastest SSDs reviewed here. Well time has passed and 34nm NAND is no longer as readily available so OWC has changed the NAND used to 24nm Synchronous Toggle NAND, why Synchronous NAND? The OFNI 2 specification lists maximum read and writes and only a few MBps difference on the high end. As reviews show though, 8MB cluster sizes are not the end all or be all of SSD performance.

We were lucky enough to have two Intel 910 800GB PCI Express SSDs in our lab. We could not resist the temptation to throw them together to explore the performance possible from a dual Intel 910 solution.

Today we are looking at the latest Solid State Drive from ADATA … the XPG SX910. This SX910 has native 6Gb/s support and ships with a 3.5 inch adapter and free migration software. The XPG SX910 uses a new optimised firmware to maximise the utilisation of the NAND flash. We are reviewing the 256GB version and will test it against a wide range of leading drives available today.

If you're a professional who uses computer systems for work or if you're just an enthusiast then chances are that you will have at least a couple of hard disk drives laying around which once used to inhabit the inside of your PC case but as expected are long replaced with higher capacity models. This is something I’ve seen a lot lately and it seems that most people actually keep these drives stored someplace rather than using them for backup purposes. Still there are always those who are continuously seeking ways to make use of those drives and what better way solution than to mount them on an external USB 3.0 enclosure? Now what's really nice is that although roughly 4-5 years ago there were only single bay external HDD enclosures in the market (excluding server products) nowadays you can find external enclosures with up to 8 available drive bays. Today’s review is about one such product and so on our test bench is the latest dual-bay 3.5" HDD RAID enclosure by Akitio, the NT2U3 (NT2 USB 3.0).

Seasonic really need no introduction, they have been the OEM behind some of the world’s finest power supplies for many years. Today we are looking at the X-Series 1250W unit, a fully modular design which has achieved 80 Plus Gold Certification.

The Corsair Force GS 240 GB is an excellent SSD. Now that the problems with SandForce belong to the past with the arrival of firmware version 5, there is no reason not to buy this solid state drive. In terms of performance the Force GS is one of the fastest SSDs currently around. The Force GS gets the Hardware.Info Silver Award, simply because it's a great SSD. Since prices keep changing in the world of SSDs, take advantage of the price comparison tool on our site to make sure you get the best deal.
