That said, today we’ll be reviewing the Plextor M6M 256GB SSD. As far as components go, the Plextor M6M/M6S is controlled by the Marvell 88SS9188 (Monet Lite) controller, which is a controller we’re seeing on our test benches for the first time today along with some of Toshiba’s latest 2nd generation 19nm Toggle Mode MLC NAND...

The Corsair Force GS 240 GB is an excellent SSD. Now that the problems with SandForce belong to the past with the arrival of firmware version 5, there is no reason not to buy this solid state drive. In terms of performance the Force GS is one of the fastest SSDs currently around. The Force GS gets the Hardware.Info Silver Award, simply because it's a great SSD. The PQI Air Drive is a portable storage device the size of a credit card (and a bit thicker) that enables up to five people to connect and stream live music, movies or photos from the drive to their portable devices simultaneously. Unlike traditional storage devices that uses on fixed memory to store your files, the Air Drives only source of storage is an SD card (or in our case microSD card) up to a maximum capacity of 32GB and can be purchased with different capacity cards included.

Most solid state drive (SSD) manufacturers make their drives with a standard set of capacities with the most popular being 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. Intel is the exception to this rule, as they produce their SSDs in more varied capacities from 40 GB to 600 GB. Today we are going to look at a 320 Series 160 GB SSD from Intel which will give you a little more space than the 128 GB drives that most manufacturers offer.

SanDisk has released their Ultra Plus line of SSDs just in time for the new year. They feature a Marvell controller and some interesting technologies to help performance. Targeted for the mid-level consumer, these won't be peaking any of our benchmark charts but still offers up some nice performance. To get the low down on the performance, have a look at the article.

Being a larger capacity size we compared the drive to the 240GB drives from Team SandForce products and again the Performance Pro performed well. The one area the 256GB Performance Pro didn't do so well in, well, let me first say in relation to the SF-2281 controlled drives, is when the drive was filled to 50% capacity. In this very important test the Performance Pro 256GB was a bit slower. So, to sum it up the 256GB Performance Pro was very fast, but not fast enough to take the performance crown in its capacity size group.
