Data is becoming a aspect of people's lives more and more as of late with users needing more space than ever before and with flash drives dropping down in price as more manufacturers are developing them and speeds increasing, there is an abundance of choice out there.

During this year's CES several manufacturers found the opportunity not only to promote already existing SSD models but also to introduce brand new ones most of which followed the standard SATA III connection while surprisingly only a few were PCIex based. The only reason i say that this surprised me is because personally i feel that the only serious performance jump I’ve seen between SSD models ever since the 2nd generation of controllers made its appearance roughly 2 years ago was when i started using PCIex based SSDs (just check the RevoDrive3 in our charts and keep in mind that this is an entry level PCIex based SSD). PCIex based SSDs however are still quite expensive and so in a way i can understand that manufacturers want to target the masses and not just enthusiasts and professionals. So with this in mind we decided to continue our SSD review spree by taking a thorough look on the latest mainstream (budget as some call it) SSD model introduced by Kingston a few weeks back, the SSDNow V300.

Back in July we took a look at the Vertex 4 solid state drive from OCZ. This was the first consumer solid state drive from OCZ to use the Indilinx Everest 2 controller. Today we are looking at OCZ’s second solid state drive to use that controller, the Agility 4. The Agility 4 features read and write speeds of 420MB/s read and 410MB/s write respectively. Since OCZ has been making solid state drives they have always had the Vertex line and Agility line. The Vertex line was always the high-end enthusiast product, while the Agility was aimed for the mainstream. It is no different here, unlike the Vertex 4 that uses synchronous NAND the Agility 4 uses asynchronous NAND and is much less expensive. As of this review the Agility 4 is $189.99 for the $256GB version. Read on as we check the Agility 4 out!

If you are currently using a NAS server then you are definitely aware of the countless options available in the market as we speak from the low end single bay models designed for home use and up to the massive ultra-high end 24 bay models aimed at large businesses. What you may not be aware however is that no matter how good a NAS server is most if not all of these options come without any preinstalled drives in their bays and although some distributors take it upon themselves to equip them with their favorite drive models in the end the result is not what I’d call a plug and play AIO solution. Seagate is amongst the very few manufacturers that actually took steps to correct this by designing their very own NAS models and pairing them with their own drives in order to simplify the entire procedure and offer consumers the easy way out. Today we will be taking a look at the base model by Seagate the Business Storage 1-Bay 3TB.

G.Skill hasn't been the most active in terms out putting out SSDs but sometimes slow and steady wins the race. We had the pleasure of test driving the 120GB Phoenix Pro to see how it compared to its peers in the marketplace. Will it crash and burn or will it rise from the ashes? Read on to see how this SandForce Driven SSD does compared to some of the biggest names in the industry.

The Seagate Backup Plus is good looking portable HDD, and has reasonable performance. During the testing period of about one month, the Seagate Backup Plus has proved to be a reliable device, and has caused me no problems whatsoever.

Up on the review block today is Cirago’s TV Platinum CMC2000 1.5TB Network Multimedia Center. I personally have not yet had the opportunity to review anything like this for the site, so this was an exciting product to receive. The box boasts that it contains a 1.5TB hard drive for storage of recorded video and pictures, can record live TV, stream media, play internet radio, access files over your network via built-in NAS and look at all types of pictures. That’s a lot of stuff, so let’s take a look.

External hard drives are nice for their portability but when you’re not going anywhere and you need to transfer files there’s nothing better than a dock to do that. Docks are easy to use, there’s no messing around with installing and uninstalling when you want to swap drives, just pop in and pop out. Today for review I’ve got a product from a new company called Siig, it’s a UBS 3.0 SATA docking station. The dock is like other out there, but this one actually features a fan in it to help make sure your drives stay cool, and it’s silent so you won’t even know it’s running. So read on to learn more and see how it performs with both an SSD and an HDD..

Kingston did a fabulous job with their HyperX SSD, earning our Editor's Choice award last year. They've taken that same formula, dropped the endurance of the NAND along with the price, and give it a little different color scheme to offer up the HyperX 3K drive. How does it compare in performance to the original HyperX drive as well as the other drives we've tested? Take a peek to see!
