Today we are comparing seven competitiors covering a range of models. Some are the latest available, others are slightly older so you have an idea of how drives from today compare to those from last year. We'll also be updating our group test as new models become available!

Today we have a chance to review a USB flash drive from Super Talent with latest USB technology; USB 3.0 which was released in year 2008. Of course the fanciest feature of USB 3.0 is the speed; 4.8 Gbps which is 10x faster than the USB 2.0 in theoretically. Without further delay, let's go through this device in-depth and see whether it is a right moment switching to USB 3.0 devices.

Today for review I’ve got the ioSafe Solo 500gb USB External Hard Drive, and it’s one heck of a drive in both size and how it protects your data. The Solo weighs in at 15lbs and it’s fireproof and waterproof, it’s truly a great way to protect your data from disaster. I’ve spent time with it testing it of course, but I also decided to test just how waterproof it is, I tossed it in a stream nearby to test just how waterproof it is. Read on for videos, pictures and tests of the ioSafe Solo

OCZ Technology have been at the forefront of Solid State designs now for many years. They released their Vertex 3 drives which featured the Sandforce 2281 controller back in 2011. This was a popular drive among the enthusiast audience as it offered excellent performance characteristics at a competitive price point. The Vertex 3.20 is a re-engineering of the original design, now incorporating 20nm Synchronous Multi Level Cell (MLC) NAND flash. OCZ’s goal is to deliver higher performance in 2013, while driving down the price.

Hard drives with solid state cache storage, also known as hybrid drives, have been around for awhile. They are popular with laptop users but until now, those that have equipment designed to work only with 7mm high drives have been out of luck. Seagate's latest SSHD has been redesigned to a smaller, 7mm form factor as well as improved performance. See how it compares to the previous generation Momentus XT drive.
