Lately we've been trying to reach out and make sure that we cover a wide range of manufacturers in an effort to provide you with more information when choosing a power supply. One such manufacturer that we have yet to see on our bench that we have had several requests for is Kingwin. In the past we've taken a look at Network Storage devices from LaCie in their 'Network' line such as the 2Big Network 2 and the 5big Network 2. However today we're going to switch things up a bit and take a look at the 2Big NAS from LaCie.
LaCie has released version 2 of their NAS line and sent us the 2Big Network 2 2TB version. With unlimited options for connectivity how will it stand up to our review?
The number of devices compatible with Thunderbolt is growing. We recently reviewed a number ofmotherboards with Thunderbolt, and now we are putting the Lacie 2big Thunderbolt to the test. It's an external hard drive with two 3.5-inch hard disks, a direct competitor to the WD MyBook Thunderbolt Duo.
LaCie recently added a new model to its line of Windows storage servers. The 4big Rack Office is positioned next to the 5big Office and the 5big Office+, and is made to fit in a rack like the name suggests. Most rack models are not exactly the most attractively designed products, but LaCie put some effort into this design like it does with all its products. The chassis is made entirely out of aluminium, and while it's intended for a 19-inch rack, it wouldn't look out of place on a table either.
Today LaCie gives existing customers a 25% write performance increase and those looking for a quality NAS something to think about. New software features round out the updated NAS 3.0 software, but the 5big stood on solid ground before it.
After our review of the LaCies' 2big Network 2 LaCie has sent us their 5big Network 2. Lets take a look at some of the differences between the 2big Network 2 and the 5big Network 2. Does this big brother to the 2big Network 2 have what it takes for SOHO and home users?
