The new GeForce GTX 650 Ti is the latest GPU from NVIDIA, targeted to video cards on the USD 150 segment. The Gigabyte GV-N65TOC-2GI comes overclocked, with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory instead of 1 GB and a better cooling solution than the standard model. Let's see how this model from Gigabyte fared on our tests.
NVIDIA does such a great job filling holes in its product line-ups, that sometimes it manages to fill a void we didn’t even know existed. The GTX 650 Ti is a perfect example of this. This GK106-based card sits close to the GTX 660, and with GIGABYTE’s overclocked GV-N65TOC-1GI, we’ll see if we can close the gap even further.
Instead of releasing a plain-jane GIGABYTE branded reference design video card for its volume GeForce GTX 670 product, GIGABYTE injected its own style into its offering. Like the headlining products across the whole GIGABYTE GeForce 600 series, its top of the line GTX 670 product features a WINDFORCE cooler.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB is one of the most sold graphics cards today. It has proven to be a great card for those with a 1080p gaming setup as it is relatively affordable and can often be found for around $250. In recent months companies like Gigabyte have begun offering 4GB models of this popular card for an extra $40-50 over the price of the base model with 2GB of memory. Gigabyte currently has the Gigabyte GTX 760 GDDR5-2GB for $259.99 and the Gigabyte GTX760 GDDR5-4GB for $299.99, so they are charging $40 or 15% more to have double the frame buffer. Many gamers are wondering how much memory they need, so when we got the chance to look at the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 4GB we couldn't pass it up. We would finally be able to see if the extra frame buffer was just a marketing gimmick or something useful that was worth the extra money....
The Gigabyte GV-N770OC-2GD and GV-N780OC-3GD are good video cards. Their performance is in line with other GeForce GTX 770 and 780 cards, and the overclocking potential is fine. A strong side of these cards is how silent they are when idle.
Graphic cards
The Gigabyte GTX 770 OC video card uses a custom Windforce 3X cooling solution that can effectively dissipate heat off of the supercharged GK104 GTX 770 GPU core. The Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce OC video card has six copper heatpipes and aluminum fins organized in a triangular shape to effectively minimize the flow of turbulence between the fans that results in a low noise video card performance.
With the release of the GTX 770 and the recent launch of the GTX 780, NVIDIA made on fundamental change to their cards over the GTX 690 and Titan. This change is one that may seem simple, but it is one that has a major role in the graphics market and for each of NVIDIA's partners. This change is the grant to change the PCB layout and most importantly the cooling on the cards. When the GTX Titan was released, NVIDIA put a halt on any non reference designs and in effect the only alteration partners could make was to put a sticker with their name on the card.
The is not the case with the 700 series however, whilst the GTX 770 and GTX 780 used the exact same cooler as seen on Titan, manufacturers are now allowed to deviate from the reference design and put their own mark on their cards to set them apart from the competition. In Gigabyte's case, the cooler of choice is WindForce and for a number of years now this has been at the forefront of their marketing campaigns.
With the release of the 770, Gigabyte are keen to show off the latest revision of their well known cooler, which now features a metal housing rather than the older plastic design. On top of this, Gigabyte have given the GK104 core the overclock treatment to take the 770 to the next level and let it stretch its legs a bit more.
When it comes to looking at this card, there is little more than the card in a box to look at as this is a review sample, meaning that Gigabyte have omitted the usual gubbins and accessories that we would normally see as part of a graphics card bundle.
At the end of the day there are a ton of GeForce GTX 770 video cards available for sale. When we looked this morning we found one dozen different GeForce GTX 770 cards for sale ranging in price from $399.99 to $509.99 plus shipping. The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X just happens to be on the low end of that price range and that came as a shock to us. This card is the least expensive GeForce GTX 770 that you can buy right now. It easily performed better than the ASUS and MSI cards that we compared it against and those cards cost about $10 more...
