Samples from Diamond have been a bit few and far between, but we're glad to welcome them back with open arms. It wasn't hard to get my attention, though, as they waved a pre-overclocked HD 6970 in front of my face via email.

Mit der GeForce GTX 580 stellt Nvidia die aktuell schnellste Grafikkarte. Wir testen drei Modelle von Asus, TGT und Zotac, bei denen der Chiptakt weiter in die Höhe getrieben wird. So ist die Asus-Entwicklung bereits im Referenzdesign leicht schneller, während für TGT die GeForce GTX 580 Ultra Charged ins Rennen geht und für Zotac die GeForce GTX 580 AMP!.
Gleich nach der Veröffentlichung der Geforce GTX 570 Grafikkarte wussten wir, dass diese Karte in unserem privaten Rechner landen wird. Nach knapp einer Stunde spielen ist uns der Kühler, wieder einmal, unangenehm aufgefallen. NVIDIA was the first to bring 3D Blu-ray (BD) via native HDMI 1.4 to the PC, coupled with HD audio bit stream support in the GTX 460, GTS 450 and GT 430 family of GPUs the home theater PC (HTPC) market has become much more interesting for the enthusiast. A few weeks back MissingRemote took a look at the GTS 450, and while it was a surprisingly good fit it is a little too much GPU for non-gamers. With 96 stream processors, a 128-bit memory bus and only 4 ROPs the GT 430’s hardware is unsuitable for more than casual gaming, but these limitations translate directly into lower power consumption and a format more suitable for use in a HTPC. There is a danger in removing too much hardware from the GPU, read on to find out if NVIDIA hits the HTPC sweet spot.
Today I’ve got the Inno3D GTX580 Overclock to review. The latest and (hopefully) greatest single-gpu graphics card on the market. Seen to be a tweaked and perfected version of the GTX480, this card should be top boss. However, we’ll see how it does in our benchmarks.
At launch we saw that the HD 6850 was attacked straight away by partners due to AMD letting companies make their own design of the model. This is good for two reasons; the first is that come launch day we see a lot of companies offer a lot of different coolers. It just helps make everything a little different instead of looking at reference card over reference card.
Just recently we were given some exciting news. We found out that it was possible to flash the HD 6950 with a HD 6970 BIOS and in turn make your $299 HD 6950 a $369 HD 6970, and really we don't have to tell you how cool that would be.
