Buying a new HD5970 or GTX580 is sure to clean out your bank account, and for the majority of people it is totally pointless. If you are in the market for a new high quality graphics card for a media center or 720p gaming system then the product we have for review today should certainly hit the spot.

You've got to feel a little bad for some of these NVIDIA partners; you have to wonder how much they knew about the GTX 580. We also wonder what's going to happen with the GTX 480. One would assume that it's going to hang around for a bit as companies like GIGABYTE has thrown a bit of R&D into the creation of the beast we're looking at today, but everything's a little up in the air at the moment.

AMD made it clear to us that the 6800 series are a refresh of the 5800 series, and while they have made some performance tweaks and improvements (specifically in things like tessellation) there is no ground breaking performance update here, and the cards sit pretty much where their 5800 series counterpart did.

AMD’s HD6850 series was released to a warm public reception, combining great performance, low power drain and very competitive pricing. KitGuru recently reviewed the XFX HD6850 Black Edition and today we are looking at Sapphire’s overclocked competitor- the HD6850 Toxic Edition.

Sapphire rarely does anything half-heartedly though and the focus of today's review is their take on an enhanced 6850. This is more than just a new cooler and factory overclock though as they have completely changed the product to enhance its performance and overclocking potential. Read on to find out how it performs in real world gameplay with the latest games, including Call of Duty: Black Ops, F1 2010 (DX11 patch) and Medal of Honor. Of course our usual content is also covered including 5760x1080 testing (with videos and screenshots), Blu-Ray 3D playback, AMD HD3D gameplay, GPU computing and a section on just how far we could push the Toxic.

Over the past few months KitGuru has looked at several different GTX 460 models leaving very little room for surprises; but today thanks to NewEgg.ca we have the Galaxy GTX 460 768MB card on our bench and ready to rock. This card has at least one unique feature, a removable fan. The fact that the fan can be removed is a bonus because it lets us easily clean dust from the heatsink that Galaxy uses to cool the card.

We've already seen HIS bring us the HD 6870 Turbo which was quite fast, so it comes as no surprise that Sapphire has come out with a TOXIC version of the HD 6850. Considering AMD left it up to the AIB to handle the HD 6850, it really doesn't come as a surprise since they've probably been working on the model for a while.

In this article we have decided to take a look at how one of the more desirable 5770s on the market performs in 5 of the most recent games (Black Ops, Fallout New Vegas, Medal of Honor, Civilization V and F1 2010).
