Being in the review game, I know I have to keep newer products in my PC just so I have parts on hand to be able to test new coolers with. I abused my 9800 GTX+ pretty good over the past year, but it was time to move on to bigger and better things. That in mind, I decided to go with a pair of EVGA GTX 470 SC's to run in SLI. Out of the box these cards were warm and in my pursuit to beat the snot out of them for benchmarks, I soon found the 470 to be nothing less than a nine and a half inch inferno, especially with the BIOS fan profile. Changing the fan profile to a more aggressive slope was some help, but definitely not the solution I needed if I planned to be able to get the last drop out of my cards.

We have reviewed many Sapphire graphics cards on KitGuru over the last month and we have found them all worthy of serious consideration in their respective sectors. They often include some of the finest cooling solutions and we have been particularly enamoured with their silent range of products- such as the HD5550 Ultimate.

Austin goes a little nutty and has benchmarked seven video cards on 8 benchmarks on his review of the AXLE Radeon HD 5670. He also does power consumption, overclocking and temperature testing all on the latest ATI CATALYST 10.6 and Forceware 257.21 video card drivers! A ton of benchmarking time went into this article as on games like Metro 2033 he benchmarked all the cards at two resolutions on DX9, DX10 and DX11 and took the average of three runs. That means he did nearly 100 benchmarks runs on just that one game title (not all cards could run DX11 if you are wondering why it wasn't 126 runs).

The RADEON HD 5450 from AXLE is a passively cooled video card with a very precise purpose: to be used in a single or multi-monitor setup for 2D applications or watching High Definition movies. The 3D performance is low, can be compared to the 4550 and it is not recommended for the latest games, but the card is passively cooled and should make for a nice HTPC component.

Overall, the Axle Geforce GT 220 is a capable card for very minor gaming and would be a good card to consider when planning your next HTPC build.

While a single card is great for a low powered media center and occasional gaming we decided to follow up our initial review by seeing just what was possible with two of these in Crossfire X.

Last month we took a look at a pair of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 graphics cards when they were launched. We even ran them in SLI together and brought you a look at SLI performance numbers when running a pair of them. What has changed in the past month? Well for starters a GeForce GTX 465 can be picked up for $249 now, which is a price drop of $30 or 11%. NVIDIA has also released new drivers and that means the performance has changed. Read on to see how it looks as we review the PNY GeForce GTX 465 video card!
