The 5xxx series of graphics cards has been fondly received by both the public and critics … the combination of low power requirements with top tier performance has proven hard to beat. nVidia have managed to level the playing field lately with the latest Fermi cards, but most people would agree that ATI are still in a very strong position. When heat and power drain are important, the 5xxx is still king.

KitGuru has been concentrating recently on many mid range boards, however today we are going to be looking at the high end custom HIS HD5870 graphics card, a product we know that will get you excited.

We've almost done it all with the GTX 465; looked at it in single form, overclocked, SLI form and today we'll finish the quenelle with GTX 465s in SLI overclocked. I've already mentioned that I think this card in SLI is going to be the perfect combination for people who want to go down the Surround Gaming path, but the question is, can we have the same luck with overclocking when we throw two of them together?

So, you like NVIDIA and you've bought yourself a GTX 480; you're someone that doesn't mind splashing a bit of money around so you're thinking about a dedicated PhysX card. You're not going to spend GTX 470 or GTX 480 money on a dedicated PhysX card. Instead something like a second hand GTX 2XX series could be a goer.

„Das Warten wird sich Lohnen“. Mit diesen Worten bereitete Nvidia-Sprecher Bryan Dell Rizzo seine Jünger und potentielle Kunden auf eine längere Wartezeit für Fermi vor. Wohl mit dem Hintergrund nicht zu viele Kunden und Endverbraucher an den Erzrivalen AMD zu verlieren. While busy swimming through a sea of rumours, Miodrag Relic, EVGA’s head of European marketing, was able to find time to show off his companies latest foray into the challenge of keeping Fermi cool enough to rock the DX11 world. Not an easy trick, so how do they plan to manage it?

It is hard to believe that KitGuru only opened a month ago, we have been working around the clock to ensure that we review the hottest products on the market … even if some of them have been out for a while. Today we are going to look at the Sapphire HD5770 Vapor X, which on paper looks to be one of the finest HD5770’s available. The Sapphire card comes with a very modest 10mhz increase on the core, raised from 850mhz to 860mhz.

The ASUS ENGTX480-2D1-1536 videocard stays pretty close to NVIDIA's reference design, with a 700MHz core clock speed, 1.5GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 924MHz (quad-pumped to an effective 3696MHz) and a 384-bit wide memory bus. Here's what the little beastie looks like under all that heatsink - a very large GPU surrounded by twelve BGA DRAM memory chips.
