The breakneck pace of product development for graphics cards doesn't always generate bigger, faster, more powerful chips and cards. Sometimes a new product gets developed and introduced to the market that isn't a barn burner. Such is the case with this GTX260-based video card, the ASUS ENGTX260 Matrix. That doesn't mean it isn't a worthwhile product, or isn't worth the attention of Benchmark Reviews. Instead, it's usually a more focused design that is aimed at a tighter target market. As if the high end PC graphics card market isn't tight enough, ASUS has carved out a niche in their product line called Matrix, and adopted it into their Republic of Gamers.

This article is devoted to new graphics cards from Gigabyte. We have two products based on NVIDIA GPUs from different price and performance ranges: GeForce GTS 250 (aka 9800 GTX+, based on the good old G92) and GeForce GTX 275 (an intermediate between GTX 260 and 285, closer to the latter in terms of speed).

The ASUS EAH4890 HTDI/1GD5 has a Radeon HD 4890 GPU at the heart of the graphics card, but you couldn't tell by looking at it. The EAH4890 HTDI/1GD5 has been designed by ASUS and utilizes features like Super ML Caps, a six heat pipe cooling solution, and higher clock speeds to improve gaming performance. This is unlike any video card you might have bought a couple years ago.

Last summer the nVidia GT200 core cards, the GTX 260 and GTX 280, were relatively new and expensive. Now, more than a year later, the GT200 core is still nVidia's top-dog, but the cost of entry to this level of performance has dropped significantly. With the advent of newer, faster cards such as the GTX 275 and 285, the now lowly but revamped, die-shrunk 260 can be had for well under the $200 mark, or even less for the original 65nm, 192sp core cards. It's one of these cards, basically identical to our original EVGA GTX 260 from last year, that we've got from our friends over at Geeks.com for comparison today. Join me as I take a look at a modern SLI implementation and see if two cards really are better than one.

Mit der Radeon HD 5870 werden die Karten auf dem 3D Sektor neu gemischt. AMDs neuer Bolide soll die doppelte Performance bei geringerem Verbrauch und mehr Features bieten. Wir haben es nachgeprüft.

A couple of weeks ago on launch day we looked at the Radeon 5870 and found it to be a very impressive card. It combined excellent performance in today’s games with a great set of features which will be useful in future titles. Today we have a follow-up article where we will look at the 5870 offerings from a selection of ATI’s partners as well as the 5850 to see which cards are worth your hard earned cash.

With the recent arrival of the new ATI Radeon HD 5 series graphics cards causing a great deal of interest, the previous best performing single GPU from ATI – the 4890 – has been left by the way side a little. Although, on the whole, the ATI DX11 GPU launches have been a great success for ATI, many users will still be sticking to the 4 series, if not older, cards and as ATI seeks to monopolise the DirectX11 Market with nVidia’s Fermi Technology lagging far behind, it’s definitely a good time to be investing in a 4890 or other 4 series GPU.

This article is all about answering one question: how well does the Radeon HD 5770 scale in CrossFireX performance tests. Benchmark Reviews has already investigated and published two reviews for video cards based on the HD5770 "Juniper" chip; an engineering sample from ATI and a production card from XFX. They both acquitted themselves quite well, and we included some CrossFireX test results in the XFX review, using two cards strapped together on an Intel P45 platform. This time we take a look at how 1, 2, and 3 cards work together on our new Windows 7 test suite, with an AMD 7! 90FX motherboard.
