Already impressed with what the GTX 550 Ti can do after looking at the MSI Cyclone II edition, it's now time to see what Gainward brings to the table with its highly popular Golden Sample series. This is a series that's been popular for years and in recent times we've seen them come out hard and fast offering strong cooling solutions, but more importantly fantastic out of the box overclocks that have resulted in excellent performance gains over other models.

It's been a while since we've seen anything from Gainward and the main reason for that is it had been a while since we'd seen anything from NVIDIA. Now that NVIDIA have some new models and companies have had the chance to attack them with some new cooling and what not, it's time to see what some of the NVIDIA only partners are capable of.
With the help of the Gainward GTX 460 GLH Edition, the Palit GTX 460 Sonic Platinum and our favorite overclocking program from MSI, Afterburner, we're going to try and move past that 800MHz default clock the companies offer and see what we're able to achieve out of this $500 setup that has offered us simply amazing performance already.
Today we're looking at another card from the company; this being the new GTX 460 which has become the apple of so many eyes. Its low price and high performance has made it a winner in so many people's hearts. If the GTX 480 stopped the heart of NVIDIA, the GTX 460 is the defibrillator that brought it back to life.
We're not far at all from the launch of the new AMD cards, but there's one thing we know; the two models launching this week won't carry a price tag as low as the GTS 450, so it continues to be a very real model for NVIDIA. Instead, the new models will be launching to compete around the GTX 460 it seems. We'll know more about it soon enough, though.
Today we publish our results on a week’s worth of testing and find out if it really is such a controversial card or if it is worth talking about for completely different reasons. In addition to this we will take a look at another Radeon card … the XFX 4850 XXX which shares a similar price point to the GTS 250.
Die GeForce GT 240 gibt es in einer DDR3- und einer GDDR5-Version. Während wir uns letztere bereits angeschaut haben, folgt nun die günstigere und theoretisch langsamere DDR3-Karte. Wir haben sie in Form einer Gainward GeForce GT 240 mit 1.024 MB eingeladen und werden in einigen Tests untersuchen, ob man mit der DDR3-Version sinnvoll sparen kann.
Aktuelle High-End-Grafikkarten, die von den entsprechenden Boardpartnern im Referenzdesign erhältlich sind, kommen in der Regel mit einer einfachen Kühllösung daher. Letztere arbeitet mit einer vergleichsweise hohen Lautstärke und zugleich hohen Temperaturen, dem einige Bastler mit passenden Alternativ-Kühlern entgegenwirken können. Allerdings erschweren die vielen Modelle die Auswahl, weshalb wir aus diesem Grund fünf aktuelle VGA-Kühler von ARCTIC, Alpenföhn, Prolimatech sowie Scythe auf unseren Teststand geholt und gegeneinander antreten liessen.
