Today we are looking at the HIS Radeon HD 5570 1GB Graphics Card. It is a card which uses little to no power and is aimed mainly at the HTPC market and low end gaming market too.
While today I'll only be playing with the baby GTX 400 cards, the bottom line is that as the weeks have gone on and companies have taken the time to attack this model with new cooling, we've really been able to see the model for what it is. In its reference form it's an overpriced model that runs too hot, too loud and gets beaten by the HD 5850 at higher resolutions. In the Palit and Galaxy forms, though, the cards have become quieter and cooler overclocking beasts thanks to companies like Galaxy and MSI with their overclocking software Xtreme Tuner HD and Afterburner, respectively.
The 5xxx series of graphics cards has been fondly received by both the public and critics … the combination of low power requirements with top tier performance has proven hard to beat. nVidia have managed to level the playing field lately with the latest Fermi cards, but most people would agree that ATI are still in a very strong position. When heat and power drain are important, the 5xxx is still king.

Wir haben jene GF100-basierten Modelle seitens Zotac gegen eine Radeon HD 5870 von Sapphire gestellt, um unter 15 Spieletests inklusive einiger zusätzlicher Tests (so unter anderem auch unter Supersampling Anti-Aliasing ATI vs. nVidia) uns der Frage zu nähern, wer derzeit das beste Angebot im HighEnd-Segment hat.
Leider ist es in letzter Zeit wieder modern geworden, Mainstream-Grafikkarten vermehrt mit dem langsamen DDR2-Speicher auszurüsten. Dabei kalkulieren die Hersteller durchaus ein, daß sich viele Grafikkarten-Käufer über die enorm leistungsbremsende Wirkung dieses Speichers bei schnelleren Grafikkarten nicht im klaren sind, welcher eine Mainstream-Grafikkarte durchaus einmal 30 Prozent oder mehr an Performance kosten kann. Auf der anderen Seite wird größtenteils nicht einmal ein vernünftiger Preisnachlass bei mit DDR2-Speicher ausgerüsteten Grafikkarten geboten.

The 5850 PCS+ is a factory overclocked model with enhanced cooler and we will be putting it thorough a selection of real world tests, including StarCraft 2, to establish how it compares to the best 5830 on the market. In addition to this we will also take a look at how both cards perform in the recently released Mafia 2 and Lost Planet 2 benchmarks before concluding with some 3D Blu-Ray playback and GPU computing tasks.
The other day we had a look at the reference version of the HD 5550 GDDR5 model from ATI. Today we'll be having a look at a retail version from HIS; along with that we'll also be looking at the HD 5570 which has had the same treatment as its little brother, the HD 5550, with the addition of GDDR5 memory.
