Today we have one of the top end GTX 470's on our test bench, the Gigabyte GTX 470 Super Overclock. It features custom PCB, cooler and the fastest core we have seen on a GTX 470 to date. We will be putting it through a selection of tests including Medal of Honor, Fallout New Vegas (3D Vision), F1 2010 (DX11 Patch) and 3D Blu-Ray playback to find out how much Gigabyte have improved on the reference design.
Today we have Gigabytes GTX 275 Super Overclock in our labs which takes nVidia's GTX275 to a whole new level. To make things even more interesting we have paired this impressive card with Nvidias 3D Vision kit, today we see if the latest development in display technology is ready for the mainstream market.
In this review PCSTATS checks out the reference based Gigabyte GV-N260C896H-GA Geforce GTX260 videocard. This flagship PCI Express x16 2.0 videocard has 216 shader processors that can work as vertex or pixel shading pipelines. Best of all, Gigabyte have pre-overclocked the Geforce GTX260 from the default 578MHz clock speed to 630MHz, and bumped up the 1242MHz shader clock to 1356MHz. The Gigabyte GV-N260C896H-GA videocard boasts a healthy 896MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 1000MHz, running on a 448 bit wide interface. The Geforce GTX260 is a big chip, built on a 55nm process it contains an astounding 1.4 billion transistors.
So its just over a week since NVIDIA officially announced their contender to the single core GPU battle between themselves and AMD. The GeForce GTX Titan has been the talk of the town for a little while and now we are finally able to get our hands on one and see what the fuss is all about. NVIDIA have said that they are going to leave it to us, the reviewers, to decide whether or not this new card is any competition for AMD's 7970. This naturally can be taken either way in that they honestly don't know how it will compare, or they are hiding the fact that this is not only going to give AMD a run for their money, but they will have to sprint to keep up.

At the end of the day there are a ton of GeForce GTX 770 video cards available for sale. When we looked this morning we found one dozen different GeForce GTX 770 cards for sale ranging in price from $399.99 to $509.99 plus shipping. The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3X just happens to be on the low end of that price range and that came as a shock to us. This card is the least expensive GeForce GTX 770 that you can buy right now. It easily performed better than the ASUS and MSI cards that we compared it against and those cards cost about $10 more...
With the release of the GTX 770 and the recent launch of the GTX 780, NVIDIA made on fundamental change to their cards over the GTX 690 and Titan. This change is one that may seem simple, but it is one that has a major role in the graphics market and for each of NVIDIA's partners. This change is the grant to change the PCB layout and most importantly the cooling on the cards. When the GTX Titan was released, NVIDIA put a halt on any non reference designs and in effect the only alteration partners could make was to put a sticker with their name on the card.
The is not the case with the 700 series however, whilst the GTX 770 and GTX 780 used the exact same cooler as seen on Titan, manufacturers are now allowed to deviate from the reference design and put their own mark on their cards to set them apart from the competition. In Gigabyte's case, the cooler of choice is WindForce and for a number of years now this has been at the forefront of their marketing campaigns.
With the release of the 770, Gigabyte are keen to show off the latest revision of their well known cooler, which now features a metal housing rather than the older plastic design. On top of this, Gigabyte have given the GK104 core the overclock treatment to take the 770 to the next level and let it stretch its legs a bit more.
When it comes to looking at this card, there is little more than the card in a box to look at as this is a review sample, meaning that Gigabyte have omitted the usual gubbins and accessories that we would normally see as part of a graphics card bundle.
Graphic cards
The Gigabyte GTX 770 OC video card uses a custom Windforce 3X cooling solution that can effectively dissipate heat off of the supercharged GK104 GTX 770 GPU core. The Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce OC video card has six copper heatpipes and aluminum fins organized in a triangular shape to effectively minimize the flow of turbulence between the fans that results in a low noise video card performance.
The Gigabyte GV-N770OC-2GD and GV-N780OC-3GD are good video cards. Their performance is in line with other GeForce GTX 770 and 780 cards, and the overclocking potential is fine. A strong side of these cards is how silent they are when idle.
