Die Radeon HD 5750 mit 512 MB hat XFX ohne große Ankündigung auf den Markt gebracht und bietet damit die günstigste aller DirectX 11 Karten an. Und lieferbar ist sie auch noch. Wie groß ist der Unterschied zwischen 512 MB und 1 GB?
Zu unserem letzten Grafikkarten-Marktüberblick vom Dezember 2009 haben sich durch einige neu in den Markt gekommene ATI-Grafikkarten (Radeon HD 5570, 5670 und 5830) und natürlich die neuen nVidia-Grafikkarten (GeForce GTX 470/480) sowie einige ausgelaufene Modelle inzwischen reichlich Änderungen ergeben. Zudem hat der zuletzt klar gefallene Dollar/Euro-Kurs auch die Preise gerade der hochwertigen Modelle beeinflußt – diese werden inzwischen durchgehend etwas teurer angeboten als noch zum Jahreswechsel. Höchste Zeit also für einen neuen Grafikkarten-Marktüberblick, welcher – nachdem vorausschauend schon die neuen nVidia-Beschleuniger mit eingearbeitet wurden – vermutlich ein paar Wochen Bestand haben wird.
Mit dem heutigen Tag startet AMD den Verkauf der AMD Radeon HD 7790 - einer neuen Grafikkarte, welche dieses Mal jedoch nicht auf einer Abwandlung eines bereits existierenden Grafikchips aufsetzt. Stattdessen verfügt die Radeon HD 7790 über eine neue GPU mit dem Codenamen Bonaire. Damit will der Hersteller die Leistungslücke zwischen Radeon HD 7770 und HD 7850 schließen und nimmt sich gleichzeitig die GeForce GTX 650 Ti zur Brust. Im heutigen Test vertritt Sapphires HD 7790 Dual-X OC den jüngsten AMD-Spross.

The ASUS MARS 760 is a unique, dual-GPU graphics card that delivers the performance you expect. The build quality is very nice, you can overclock the card if you want, but the noise level with two GPUs is of course higher than with one. It's clear that the ASUS engineers did their homework, as it's a very solid card overall.

In the world of Small Form Factor builds you are always compromising. You either have to give up some performance for a smaller size or give up some size to get the performance you are looking for. Recently though, this trend has been starting to change. My last LAN build was easy to carry around while having (at the time) the second fastest GPU from Nvidia and a high end CPU. Of course because of my GPU I couldn’t go any smaller. Asus has a new GPU that is going to change that. Their new GTX 670 Direct CU Mini is the same length of a MiniITX motherboard. With that size, my LAN rig is going to need a complete rebuild.. To go smaller!
