This past 12 months has seen a lot of new products for AMD in terms of processors, the Fusion platform and of course graphics cards. The HD 6870 has been a top seller for them since its initial launch and have kept a steady growth of sales even with higher end competitor cards being released. As with most graphics cards that are released, a reference design of sorts is used to show the performance and a custom design card follows on later down the line. The HD 6870 saw a massive boost in sales when custom coolers were strapped to the cards and with HIS branding their IceQ X fan and heatsink, it proves our point to the letter.
HIS first introduced its IceQ coolers in 2003 to its Radeon 9800PRO series of video cards, eight years later HIS return with the IceQ X cooler, which thankfully performs much better than it looks. He is very good looking, yet he is only interested in one girl from the beginning to the end; with the girl being the average type everyone can relate to. How can such an ideal man exist in this world? Well, other than to appeal to all the female audience members, of course he doesn't exist. But before you start laughing at all the girls and their wonderful fantasies, I think everyone likes to dream about stuff that combines the best of every world. For example, as a silent PC enthusiast, but a PC enthusiast nonetheless, I am always after a computer that is not only matchless in performance, but also unparalleled in silence. And with any performance computer, the video card is an absolutely crucial component. So to put some substance into our review today, is there such thing as a graphics card that has all the processing power, emits minimal amount of noise, and still does not overheat? With Gigabyte's GeForce GTX 570 1280MB SOC here at APH Networks today, let's see if this is the Professor King of video cards!

Graphics cards are a funny thing, because we end up with AMD and Nvidia constantly competing and releasing new models of GPU's left right and centre and then suddenly we see nothing. The only products that end up being released are revamped versions of older cards, but that's not to say they aren't any good, as that couldn't be further from the truth.
