Like the other HD 7000 series cards we've looked at, XFX was one of the first samples to arrive and for that reason we'll be checking out their offering first. Following along with the "Black Edition" theme that we've been seeing from them, this one goes a step further with the "Black Edition S Super Overclocked" naming scheme.
What makes it so super overclocked? Well we don't know yet, but we'll find out soon enough. Before we do that, though, there are a few things we need to do. First we want to see what's going on with the package, XFX hasn't done too bad here lately and we hope moving down to a lower price bracket card doesn't impact the bundle too much.

When I installed the Sapphire HD 7770 OC into my testbed and ran 3DMark 11, I found that there was only a few points difference between the score that Sapphire offered and what we saw out of the XFX HD 7770 Black Edition S Super Overclocked 1GB which we looked at the other day. Heading into GPU-Z I saw the reason the score was so close was because both cards where clocked extremely close to each other. We'll cover the clocks in the next page when we look at the specifications of the card.
Since it felt like a waste to just test the Sapphire card by itself when it's score would be near identical to the XFX model, I decided to pull the XFX card back out and throw it alongside our Sapphire one and see what CrossFire performance was like.

Today we're looking at the HIS HD 7750 which comes in at $109.99 putting it in that lower mid-range sector. As time has gone on, though, we've seen these cheaper cards offer us quite strong performance. We felt a little disappointed with how AMD launched the new series, though, and the HD 7770 on a whole due to the price point. We wonder if the cheaper HD 7750 can stand as it hits this lower price point.

The SAPPHIRE HD 7950 OC Edition video card is factory overclocked to 900 MHz and features SAPPHIRE’s new dual-extractor GPU cooler technology. Will this multi-heatpipe cooler with dual fans and a moderate factory overclock be enough to make this card stand out from the crowd? Read on to see how this card performs, overclocks and runs in our test system.

When we moved away from the single GPU performance via the XFX HD 7770 Black Edition S Super Overclocked 1GB and checked out the CrossFire performance via Sapphire we saw a bit of light at the end of the tunnel thanks to some awesome CrossFire scaling. The issue continued to be the price of the setup, though.
With some strong overclocks out of the box, we wonder what kind of overclocking potential we have with the model. Today we'll be finding that out exactly via the help of the MSI Radeon HD 7770 1GB OC Edition video card. There are of course a few things we need to do before we cover the overclocking side of things.

Considering we've seen the company jump fairly quick into the Twin Frozr cooling setup, we figure it was simply because they were hard at work making something that was going to stand out. The Twin Frozr cooler has always been one of our favorite coolers, especially if you're looking exclusively at dual slot cards.
How's the beloved Twin Frozr III cooler go with the new 28nm HD 7950, though? Well, there's only one way to find out and we want to make sure we can see what it's really made out of which can only be done one way, overclocking!

AMD launch the ‘Pitcairn’ series of graphics cards today, completing their Trinity of new Direct X 11 discrete solutions. In previous months we analysed the ‘Tahiti’ series HD7970 /HD7950 and the ‘Cape Verde’ HD7770 and HD7750, targeting the ultra high and lower end price points respectively. The HD7870 and HD7850 are released to fill out the middle ground, aimed at the enthusiast user who wants plenty of bang for the buck.

Today AMD launch the 7800 series and allow us to look at their reference cards with partner availability to come later (around March 19th). With the same features as the 7900 series yet a significantly lower price today we find how well they compete with the 7950 and 6870 while looking in detail at the comparison with NVIDIAs GTX 560 Ti and GTX 570.
