Bezüglich der kommenden ersten 28nm-Grafikkarten gibt es diverse Anzeichen darauf, daß deren Start eventuell schon Anfang Dezember stattfinden soll – bei nVidia soll der Launch der GeForce 600M Serie am 6. Dezember steigen und zu AMD gibt es (unbestätigte) Gerüchte, wonach man schon am 4. Dezember den neuen Performance-Chip "Cape Verde" (vermutlich Radeon HD 7800 Serie) vorstellen wird.
Graphic cards
With lots of rumours about AMD and Nvidia releasing new cards in 2012, we find a lot of graphics card manufacturers clinching on to the life of the current cards and trying to spice things up to give a breath of fresh air to an already old card.
The 6970 isn’t exactly old, as it’s still very current, but with a fast paced industry like this one, technology is old before its even been released. This is down to the manufacturer’s starting the thought process on its sucessor already, even at the early stages, and that’s a good thing, as it keeps the tech fast moving and invites new things to be brought to the table.
Today we take a detailed look at the Radeon HD 7970 in the latest games, including Star Wars: The Old Republic and Batman: Arkham City. Added to that is GPU computing performance as well as 1080p playback tests and power, thermal and noise testing.
AMD launched their new flagship HD7970 graphics card in December, and we have been extremely impressed with the solution as it has claimed the top performance slot … knocking the GTX580 from the throne. Today we're looking at the HIS HD 7750 which comes in at $109.99 putting it in that lower mid-range sector. As time has gone on, though, we've seen these cheaper cards offer us quite strong performance. We felt a little disappointed with how AMD launched the new series, though, and the HD 7770 on a whole due to the price point. We wonder if the cheaper HD 7750 can stand as it hits this lower price point.
Up for review today I have the HIS 7750 iCooler edition video card that features 1gb of DDR5 ram on board. This card features DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connections on it and it’s more of a budget style card coming in at around $110.00. The HIS 7750 features their own iCooler GPU cooler on it that does a very good job at keeping things cool and being quiet while doing it. I’ve put it up against a few other cards I’ve got on hand so let’s see how it does in benchmarks and gaming….
