The GTX 460 Black video card from ECS is another product that comes with the high performance Arctic Cooling Accelero Turbo Pro cooler, it's also overclocked from the factory. Its performances are very close to the previously reviewed Calibre X460G and the fan speeds are much lower than the ones from the Sparkle model.
XFX's reference based version HD 6970 performs exactly like any other reference version at the time of release. Although there was a lot of high expectations for this card, in the end it can be summed up as a mixed bag of good and under-whelming.
When it comes to the decision of upgrading to the latest and greatest, the PowerColor PCS+ HD 5870 sure doesn't make that decision easy. We haven't seen a lot of the GTX 570 since it was launched. Apart from the reference card we saw from MSI and the original overclocked one from Gainward, there hasn't been much else to look at. Today, though, we're looking at another one, albeit from Gainward again. This one's a little more interesting, though, as it carries with it a new series name. We're not too sure what to expect from the new Phantom series, but this is our first take at it; although we've seen that Gainward have also launched a GTX 560 Ti under the same series.
