Our first introduction to the new 700 series of cards from Nvidia was impressive and I can say without a doubt that I have enjoyed our time with it through the review and beyond. I was especially impressed with the stock cooler aesthetically, but the performance wasn’t too bad as well. Of course that can be improved on and I finally have a chance to see that now with our latest card to come in, MSI’s GTX 780 Gaming or the N780 Twin Frozr 3GB Overclocked. Every time I have had a Twin Frozr card on the test bench I have been impressed, I wonder if this will be the same. Of course I am going to put it through our test suite to find out.

MSI’s GTX 780 Lightning was a graphics card that was hotly anticipated by the graphics card enthusiasts of a green persuasion. Announced about 3 months ago the MSI GTX 780 Lighting is a feature packed Nvidia graphics card with seven 8mm heat pipes, three fans and a mammoth heatsink. Two of the fans are 90mm while the middle one is 80mm. The MSI GTX 780 Lighting comes with a pretty nice out the box clock speed of 980/1033MHz core/boost and is much faster than the stock GTX 780 which has speeds of 863/900MHz core/boost. Sadly the memory doesn’t get any special treatment and comes with the stock amount at the stock speed of 6GHz. MSI have made some very high-end adjustments to the power delivery system removing Nvidia restrictions, adding a 16 phase VRM and providing an independent memory power source. MSI have also equipped their “GPU reactor” on the rear of the card to provide additional filtering for the power input which should increase stability when overclocking.

The MSI GTX 780 Lightning graphics card is the newest offering, targeted at achieving the highest overclocks possible. The MSI GTX 780 Lightning offers a graphics card with the GK110 GPU at its core, with MSI's TriFrozr Thermal design. The TriFrozr design offers a cooling solution with three PWM fans that can be independently controlled. The architecture also includes an all-digital PWM control and triple level signals to show load using different colors. The overclocking features don't stop there. Two separate BIOS chips are present on the 10 layer PCB. One is tuned for gaming performance out of the box, while the other is specifically tuned and unlocked for LN2 overclocking. In addition the card has 16 GPU phases of power and three memory phases, and the ability to add a "GPU Reactor" behind the GPU for more overclocking stability. The GPU reactor is designed to offer up to 300% more power capacity and to stabilize power noise. The Lightning card doesn't skimp on quality either utilizing MSI's Military class 4 components, consisting of DrMOS 4, CopperMOS, Hi-c CAP, Super Ferrite Core, and Dark Solid Caps.

With the launch of the 900 series of cards MSI also launched their new Twin Frozr V cooling. Sadly up until now we haven’t had the chance to actually check out one. With the GTX 960 launch setting down MSI sent over their GTX 960 Gaming 2G for us to check out. This gives us a great chance to see what their new cooling is capable of and to be able to compare it to some of the competition. My expectations are high because MSI has done a great job on the cooling front for a long time now. So let’s put the GTX 960 Gaming 2G to the test and see how it performs.

The final iteration of NVIDIA's Kepler GPUs is now upon us. The GTX 650Ti, which is technically closer related to the GTX 660 than the actual GTX 650 itself, is about to fill in the final gap in Kepler GPU chart. The GTX 650Ti is being positioned as an affordable GPU meant to allow all gamers to have the same Kepler benefits that may have previously been out of reach. Here at Benchmark Reviews, we have the MSI GEFORCE GTX 650Ti Power Edition 1GD5/OC video card on hand and we have put it through its paces. In the following article, we will strip down the MSI GTX 650Ti Power Edition video card and test it against a wide variety of other graphics cards to show you just where it stands.

KitGuru has been a vocal advocate of the GTX 460 – we believe it is the best value for money card on the market right now. Equally so we have also been singing the praises of AMD’s HD5770 since it was released, especially as a paired up, high performance, low cost Crossfire solution. What better than taking prime examples of each set up, clocking them to extremes and launching them at each other, using KitGuru’s Large Hadron Benchmark Collider? Don your safety gear and let the smashing begin!

After reviewing a few different GTX550 Ti graphic cards it does start to lose its flavor, especially when the results can be so similar. So it is a major relief to get a refreshing view of a reference card from MSI.
