Companies like ASUS have a their own design engineers and every so often the management will let them run free. When that happens you end up with a ridiculous product that pushes the boundaries for what can be done with current technology. ASUS took the Republic of Gamers (ROG) product engineers and challenged them to design the fastest NVIDIA graphics card possible. The result was the ASUS MARS II and we have a review on the card for you today!
Next up we have the AMD Radeon HD 8790M MXM card that is code-named Mars. This GPU is built using the latest 28-nm manufacturing process and uses a much larger GPU cooler! This Radeon HD 8790M GPU has 384 ALUs clocked at 900MHz and 2GB GDDR5 memory on a 128-bit memory interface that is clocked at 1000MHz. The Radeon HD 8790M has fewer shader ALUs than its predecessors, but remember it is built using the newer GCN architecture, has faster clock speeds and twice the GDDR5 memory...
With another 960 SP HD 6850 arrived, it was time to check out the model again when it came to overclocking. The particular one we're looking at today comes from GIGABYTE and carries with it the Windforce cooler which is the dual fan one we've been seeing from the company for a while now.
You might be wondering what I’m doing posting on a Sunday night but with Computex starting in Taiwan there are a ton of things getting announced or about to get announced. You see a lot of people think that CES is the big event each year for PC hardware but CES is really for consumer electronics where Computex has more of a focus on PC hardware. So with that Nvidia has stepped up and is introducing their GTX 980 Ti. While the launch is exciting, it is a little surprising to see them launch now, before AMD launches their 300 Series cards. Typically companies leave an ace in the hole so Nvidia must be really confident that AMD doesn’t have what it takes to outperform the GTX 980 Ti. While we won’t know that until AMD launches their cards, what we can do today is run the GTX 980 Ti through our benchmark suite and see just how it compares to what is available today.

Up for review today I have the HIS 7750 iCooler edition video card that features 1gb of DDR5 ram on board. This card features DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connections on it and it’s more of a budget style card coming in at around $110.00. The HIS 7750 features their own iCooler GPU cooler on it that does a very good job at keeping things cool and being quiet while doing it. I’ve put it up against a few other cards I’ve got on hand so let’s see how it does in benchmarks and gaming….
