Back in October of 2012 we were on an early morning (early for us anyway) conference call at 3pm with Nvidia. The topic was the soon to be released GeForce GTX 650 Ti and while they were going through the specifications one thing stood out to us. This of course was the fact that the 650 Ti was the only graphics card in the Kepler family to be released without supporting Nvidia GPU Boost technology.

If you're a hardware enthusiast this card isn't really relevant for you, but more than likely there's someone in your family or circle of friends that owns an old PC and would like a little better graphical performance. The ASUS GTX650-E-2GD5 is perfect for systems like that, as it doesn't require a PEG connector and gets all of its power from the PCI-Express bus.

The PowerColor HD 7790 Turbo Duo video card uses a custom single-heatpipe copper heatsink design with a pair of silent 80mm fans for active cooling. The HD 7790 Turbo Duo from PowerColor also comes out of the box with a factory overclock of 1075MHz, compared to the 1000MHz boost clock of the reference Radeon HD 7790. For display output, the PowerColor HD 7790 is equipped with two DVI ports, a full-sized HDMI port and a full-size DisplayPort with full AMD Eyefinity support for 3 or more displays. Through the AMD Catalyst Control Center, or through a future update to PowerColor's own Power Tuner Up utility, users can overclock the HD 7790 for better performance under the latest DirectX11 games. For even further performance increase, the PowerColor HD 7790 Turbo Duo can be Crossfired with another HD 7790 allowing it to outperform more expensive and higher end video cards.

Today we look at a customised, overclocked version of the new Nvidia GTX770 graphics card from MSI. The latest GTX770 is based around the same GK104 GPU that was used in the ever popular GTX680. The GTX770 is priced close to the HD7970 and targets the high end gaming audience who don’t want to compromise their frame rate performance at high resolutions. Should this be making your shortlist for a new system upgrade?

With the release of the GTX 770 and the recent launch of the GTX 780, NVIDIA made on fundamental change to their cards over the GTX 690 and Titan. This change is one that may seem simple, but it is one that has a major role in the graphics market and for each of NVIDIA's partners. This change is the grant to change the PCB layout and most importantly the cooling on the cards. When the GTX Titan was released, NVIDIA put a halt on any non reference designs and in effect the only alteration partners could make was to put a sticker with their name on the card.
The is not the case with the 700 series however, whilst the GTX 770 and GTX 780 used the exact same cooler as seen on Titan, manufacturers are now allowed to deviate from the reference design and put their own mark on their cards to set them apart from the competition. In Gigabyte's case, the cooler of choice is WindForce and for a number of years now this has been at the forefront of their marketing campaigns.
With the release of the 770, Gigabyte are keen to show off the latest revision of their well known cooler, which now features a metal housing rather than the older plastic design. On top of this, Gigabyte have given the GK104 core the overclock treatment to take the 770 to the next level and let it stretch its legs a bit more.
When it comes to looking at this card, there is little more than the card in a box to look at as this is a review sample, meaning that Gigabyte have omitted the usual gubbins and accessories that we would normally see as part of a graphics card bundle.

The EVGA GeForce GTX 760 Super Clocked ACX graphics card is just $10 more expensive than the standard models, but it offers better acoustics, thermal performance, visuals and it can be overclocked through the roof. To us it is a no brainer which card is the one to get.
