Mit der GeForce GTX 550 Ti Cyclone II OC stellt MSI eine der ersten Grafikkarten vor, die mit dem neuen Cyclone-Kühler ausgestattet ist. Ist dieser besser als der Vorgänger? We've already been amazed with what the GTX 560 Ti offers us when we looked at the GIGABYTE version which falls into the SOC series from the company. Now it's time to see what MSI can do with the model and while this one might not fall into that higher end HAWK series that we've grown to love, it does carry with it both an OC and the Twin Frozr II cooler.
As much as I love the recently looked at Lightning cards from MSI, their high price tag continues to let us know that they're not for everybody. This is ultimately where the HAWK series comes in to the picture.

Daraus entstand die Geforce GTX 560-Ti Twin Frozr II Overclocked, die auch im Test eine wirklich gute Figur machte.
You might wonder why we'd bother looking at the reference GTX 570 when we've already had a look at an option from Gainward which carried with it both an overclock and a new cooler. Well, the reason is simple - While the Gainward card is good, it doesn't offer the truest form of GTX 570, as it's got a bigger cooler, an overclock and a higher price tag. What it ends up doing is skewing everything for us and it makes it a little difficult to tell you exactly how one model compares directly against it.

NVIDIA jumped to the top of our TPR graphs when we posted our GTX 580 in SLI article. It wasn't a surprise, as in single form the GTX 580 1536MB is faster than the HD 6970 2GB. Scaling for NVIDIA has always been strong and while I think AMD have pretty much caught up with both companies offering nearly 100% gains in some areas, NVIDIA still has the raw power of the GTX 580 on their side.
I was always a bit bummed that I never got to test the GTX 480 in SLI. We only ever had one reference card come through our doors and after that we saw MSI, Galaxy and GIGABYTE release models that were all based on their own design, making it pretty much impossible to SLI them. The main reason I wanted to test them, though, was because we knew it was going to be the fastest dual card setup we would've tested in our testbed. Crossfire wasn't scaling as strong as it is now with the HD 6000 series and the GTX 480 had a nice little jump on the HD 5870.
