Over the past several years of testing desktop graphics hardware, I've enjoyed a unique perspective of the internal happenings that remain hidden from the public. Much like politics, there is the truth, and then there's what you've been convinced into believing. I've watched their tactics, and witnessed their desperate attempts to sway consumer opinion. As competition for sales within the desktop graphics segment provokes fierce competition, it also raises the stakes for the companies involved. NVIDIA's Fermi GF110-powered GeForce GTX 580 sets the standard, but will AMD's VLIW4 architecture Cayman GPU save the Radeon HD 6970? In this editorial article, I'll share my opinion of what appears to be the last stand between the AMD Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce desktop graphics platform.

The GeForce GTX 570 is the latest high-end graphics chip from NVIDIA, and EVGA has released an overclocked model called "Superclocked" or simply "SC" that costs USD 20 more than the standard GeForce GTX 570. At USD 370, the EVGA GeForce GTX 570 Superclocked competes directly with the new Radeon HD 6970, which comes with the same price tag. Which one of the two is the best? Let's check it out.

Today we will be taking a look at one of Zotac’s flagship graphics card from their GeForce 400 series line, the Amp! Edition GeForce GTX 480. Originally launched in March of 2010 and available a month later for purchase, the GeForce 400 series was the first to introduce the Fermi architecture and support for OpenGL 4.0 and Direct3D 11. Although ousted as the NVIDIA GPU king by the GeForce 500 series late last year, higher end 400 series cards like the GTX 480 remain very relevant in today’s GPU market. Zotac sweetens their take on the GTX 480 by throwing in an aftermarket heatsink to combat Fermi’s known heat issues and a factory overclock for good measure.

Over the past day we have taken a look in detail at NVIDIAs new GTX 560 TI. Aspects which have been covered include single card performance, SLI, stereoscopic 3D, Blu-Ray playback, GPU computing and PhysX amongst other things. As always though we like to end our launch coverage with a look in more detail at overclocked performance...

Already impressed with what a single GTX 560 Ti is able to offer, it seemed like it was time to see what two of them did for us. For a long time we've known SLI scaling has been excellent and the GTX 460 in SLI was just an absolute beast of a combination, as you had two cards that offered more performance than a single GTX 480, while at the same time offering it at a cheaper price.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti graphics card is without a doubt one of the best all around gaming graphics cards on the market today. In our GeForce GTX560 Ti launch article we showed you how the NVIDIA reference designed card did and today we are taking a look at our very first custom designed GTX560, the ASUS GeForce GTX560 Ti DirectCU II TOP video card!
