Many months after the initial launch there are a wide variety of HD6970′s available on the market, some with custom coolers and others with enhanced PCB designs. Today we are looking at the new HD6970 board from HIS, which features both.

Cards like this belong in the low to mid-range market, and that's down to price and performance on paper, but every so often a card surprises us by offering something a little bit different. If you're a frequent reader of eTeknix, you'll know that we're not fans of reference products, because being sent the same product with a different sticker and packaging on defeats the object of writing a unique review. When we get a product that has a unique patented cooler or offers different clock speeds against a reference card, then we'll be happy to take a look and give our two cents on it.

There is a huge choice for a consumer when purchasing a graphics card, as it's not always as clear cut of choosing between different GPU manufacturers, as you then have to pick the model, and after that, even pick the brand. This can sometimes take a few hours for the most experienced user but for most will sometime take weeks and by that time a new product has most likely leapt onto the market.

Video cards have actually been really quiet lately. The fact that both AMD and NVIDIA have had the current crop of models out for a while means that most companies have exhausted ways to make them stand out from the pack. Still, with that being said, it's not dead completely. So today we're looking at a HD 6770 from the peeps over at HIS. The HD 6770 is a great mid-range model, but we haven't seen companies do heaps with it. It's also one of the more recent VGA releases, so that could have a bit to do with it as well."

The Radeon HD 6670 video card from AMD comes with interesting features like UVD 3.0, Eyefinity with 3 video outputs and offers decent performance in games, while using lower resolutions like 1280x1024, 1600x1200 or 1680x1050, making it a card to consider when building a HTPC system.

KFA2 are, if you don't know, a sub-brand of Galaxy and more importantly are a brand who believe in moving away from the ordinary by offering unique products with a difference. Choosing a graphics card can be one of the most confusing choices when building a computer due the sheer volume of cards on the market, of which the majority are very similar in terms of features, performance and of course price.

Running a review website and also a YouTube channel is both hard work and rewarding. It also involves a lot of communication between our visitors and everyday I get bombarded with emails with questions and a lot of them involve Eyefinity.

Today the particular card we're looking at is the ASUS HD 6970 DirectCU II one. I've quickly become a fan of the DirectCU II cooler for the simple fact it's proven to do an extremely good job when it comes to giving us low temperatures at low noise levels. The biggest gripe people have with the model is that it's of course a triple slot card.

The GeForce GTX 560 is a strange GPU, in the sense that its manufacturer, NVIDIA, doesn't set default clock rates for it. Therefore, it is up to the video card manufacturer to decide which clocks to use. The GeForce GTX 560 Multiview from Zotac works internally at 820 MHz, accesses memory at 4 GHz through a 256-bit interface, and has its processing engines working at 1,640 MHz the same clock rates used on the standard GeForce GTX 560 Ti. The only difference between the two is the number of shader engines (336 vs. 384 on the Ti version). The Multiview model from Zotac allows you to connect up to three video monitors, a feature not available on regular models.
