No one would have believed you if you had claimed a few years back that ASRock would release a £320 motherboard. Ever since the former ASUS budget-brand claimed its independence, every year the manufacturer keeps raising the bar with its deluxe high-end boards. It was that time again recently, when it launched the Socket 1155 motherboard Z77 Extreme11. This Ivy Bridge motherboard comes complete with workstation-like features.

The ASUS P8Z77-V PRO is a top mid-range socket 1155 motherboard targeted to the forthcoming "Ivy Bridge" processors (third-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors) and also supporting the current "Sandy Bridge" models (second-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors). Let's see what the ASUS P8Z77-V PRO will have to offer.

A790GXM-AD3 is the socket AM3 version from A790GXM-A, which we have already reviewed. It is an ATX-sized motherboard with on-board video based on AMD790GX chipset featuring two x16 PCI Express slots, HDMI output and other interesting features. Let's take a look on this motherboard. A790GXM-A, however, features a dedicated 128 MB on-board video memory in order to increase gaming performance (feature called "Side Port", which is not present on A790GXM-AD3.

The ASUS name has always been synonymous with quality and performance, and the Sabertooth P67 doesn't disappoint. We actually got a better overclock from it than the Maximus IV Extreme we looked at previously. Not that we put all that much effort into either overclock, but getting an extra 1GHz out of the Sabertooth P67 with minimal effort was impressive.

We first got the chance to check out the latest in Lucid technology a couple of weeks back at a motherboard manufacturers HQ. For a lot of us Lucid is a bit of a dirty word that reminds us of this almost useless kind of technology that let us combine NVIDIA and AMD video cards together for added performance.

The Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H is a top mid-range socket LGA1150 motherboard targeted to the "Haswell" processors (fourth-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors). Let's see what this motherboard has to offer.

User müssen also auf einige Funktionen verzichten.

ASUS' P7P55D Deluxe motherboard is an Intel P55 Express platform that represents the flagship feature set available to the Core i5 processor, along with a healthy dose of overclocking tools and features. In addition to the obvious support for Intel Lynnfield socket 1156 processors, the ASUS P7P55D Deluxe motherboard features three PCI Express 2.0 x16 videocard slots. Along with the ASUS P7P55D Deluxe you'll find a collection of ASUS only tools and overclocking utilities under the Xtreme Design moniker.

AMD caused quite a stir when they released the Fusion set of APU's as it gave rival competition to Intel but with support for DirectX 11. Motherboard manufacturers were keen to jump on board producing Mini-ITX based boards around the E-350 APU. Shortly after the E-350 saga, AMD released the next in the APU line-up and this included the A8-3850, shortly followed by the slightly lower spec A6-3650 which differed by giving users a fully fledged socket, opposed to an all-in-one soldered APU like the E-350 had. This gave users a bit more flexibility in terms of upgrading the APU as and when they wanted or needed to.
