Today we have the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD7 on our test bench and will be comparing it to the ASUS Crosshair V Formula as we find out which board offers the best performance.

Since the launch of the A8 and A6 series of APUs from AMD, the motherboards we've looked at have revolved around the A75 chipset. It's a great chipset, offering some great features like SATA III and USB 3.0 support. It seemed like everyone had forgotten about the A55 series chipset, though, which launched at exactly the same time.

Towards the end of this month we'll see AMD launch its new Llano desktop platform which is part of the Fusion family that AMD are really concentrating on these days. Earlier this year we saw AMD launch the Brazos platform in the form of the E series APU. If you haven't already, it's worth looking at our GIGABYTE E350N-USB3 Review which covers what exactly the Fusion platform is along with how the APU we're hearing about now differs to the CPU that we've known for years. Fusion is what AMD will no doubt be seeing as the next big thing when it comes to desktop and notebook computing.

Now that the all mighty NDA has lifted on the new Llano platform, we're able to bring to you all those motherboards that support the new APU from AMD. Today we'll be looking at the GIGABYTE A75-UD4H. Like the ASUS board, we have already done an extensive preview on this one, so if you haven't already looked at it, I highly recommend you go check out GIGABYTE A75-UD4H (AMD A75) Llano Motherboard Preview to see what's going on with the look of the board and the bundle.

As we already know, Bulldozer is what everyone is waiting for, but on the way saw a couple of stop gaps for AMD Fusion, the first being Brazos which gave us a low-powered APU that combined the best of both CPU and GPU and still to this date, we believe is perfect for HTPC or server usage. In fact, we believe that so much that we have the Asus E35M1-M Pro powering our server, whilst the Gigabyte E350N-USB3 sits comfortably in our HTPC so we certainly found a use for them.

So far, Gigabyte has released five motherboard models based on the AMD A75 chipset for the new AMD A-Series of CPUs with integrated graphics chip ("APUs", with prices ranging from USD 100 to USD 130. Let's take a look at the A75M-UD2H, a microATX model that is sold for USD 110.

Earlier today DHL came and delivered Gigabyte's newest motherboard on the market; the A75M-UD2H which supports the latest new Llano APU's from AMD. Whilst AMD have an NDA in place forbidding us to divulge any information on the APU or its performance we were able to take a first look at the motherboard and its main features that it includes.

We received an email today from an industry source who claimed that the Gigabyte Z77X-US5H had V-Core problems. The claims were made that this would hinder overclocking and perhaps even potentially reduce reliability long term.

The NDA is starting to come off the 4th Generation Intel Core series and today we'll show you what to expect from GIGABYTE in its new AMP-UP audio feature on the G1.Sniper 5 and G1.Sniper M5.

Word from the channel has reached KitGuru that Gigabyte is keen to increase its share of the Intel mainboard space for 2010, and it's prepared to get aggressive on price to make it happen.
