World's first can make or break a product. Come see how MSI launched two new features to the market, will they continue to earn their title as an industry leader, or will they be the first to fail?

ASRock have been making a name for themselves in the last year, moving up through the ranks from ‘budget’ brand, to a serious player in the enthusiast marketplace. Today we are looking at their flagship Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen 3 motherboard and putting it through a variety of game and synthetic benchmark tests with an overclocked Core i7 2600k processor and CrossfireX graphics.

There are four key features that make the Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3-iSSD motherboard a real killer among Intel Z68 platforms: 1) It comes bundled with a 20GB Intel mSATA SSD for implementing Intel Smart Response Technology. 2) It has an onboard HDMI video output so users can leverage Intel's Quick Sync media transcoding acceleration by way of the Intel Z68+Intel HD 3000/2000 IGP. 3) Lucid Logix Vertu driver support makes it possible to effortlessly switch between integrated graphics for desktop work and a discrete videocard for 3D gaming. 4) The board supports two-way ATI Crossfire and two-way nVidia SLI for serious gamers who need raw FPS-cracking power!

Sapphire are GPU manufacturers at their heart, but they’ve been known to dip into other markets in the past few years; perhaps one of the most interesting ones being motherboards. Today I’m looking at their latest foray into the mobo game, the Sapphire Pureblack P67 Hydra. It’s got 4 PCIe ports, an onboard post and CPU temperature readout and some nice onboard power switches. Lets get investigating.

Even though the Intel Z68 chipset is out there, motherboards based on the Intel P67 continue to be attractive options for systems based on Intel socket 1155 CPUs. In fact, according to ASUS, the sales of P67-based motherboards are still outperforming those of Z68-based products. ASUS offers a wide range of motherboards based on this chipset, and today we are going to take a look at the most high-end model from this manufacturer, the Maximus IV Extreme, which offers four PCI Express x16 slots supporting high speeds and a myriad of advanced options for the extreme enthusiast.

The Republic of Gamers boards from ASUS have done a great job of impressing us. In June we had a look at the Maximus IV Extreme. Moving to July, we checked out the Maximus IV Gene-Z and today we check out the Maximus IV Extreme-Z. To be honest, before I even start testing, I have a good feeling about the board simply because of the track record. But of course, we'll see just what the Maximus IV Extreme-Z is able to offer.

The ROG Maximus IV Extreme is a very unique motherboard that combines many of the enthusiast features that overclockers want with the mainstream stability that gamers and computer users demand.

One of the oldest tricks to increase the probability of a successful overclocking is to increase the voltage from the component you want to overclock. Nowadays, even entry-level motherboards present some voltage adjustments, with high-end models coming with a myriad of them. The problem is that even hardcore enthusiasts have a hard time understanding what each option really means. In this tutorial, we will explain the exact meaning of each one of them in clear language.
