EVGA is a company that is well known for its more enthusiast based motherboards and GPUs. They are also one of the only remaining NVIDIA-only GPU shops. However, they have moved on to use Intel chipsets in their products (especially considering that NV is in a legal battle with Intel over them).
Eigentlich waren wir mit unserem bisherigen P55 Board sehr zufrieden, wenn da nicht die ständigen Overclocking Pannen wären, die oft gewisse Teile ins Jenseits befördern. So mussten wir uns auch von unserem letzten Board verabschieden. Somit musste schnell ein neues Modell her, wobei nicht viele Hersteller in Frage kamen. In die engere Wahl kam auch der Hersteller EVGA, der vor allem mit seinen besonders OC tauglichen Versionen bekannt ist. So haben wir uns nach längerem Überlegen für das günstige und doch sehr interessante EVGA P55 FTW entschieden…
The EVGA P55 FTW features a badass black color scheme that is only broken to highlight some of the primary features such as the primary memory bank and 8x PCIe video card slots. In times where more flash and bright colors have been added to motherboard designs it is nice to see that one company is embracing clean design ideas.

Let's now take a look on the simplest socket 1156 motherboard from EVGA based on the new Intel P55.
We had a chance to meet with EVGA this morning and they had most of their usual stuff on display. What caught our eyes were the latest version of the EVGA Classified SR-2, the SR-X. The EVGA SR-X is a Dual Intel LGA2011 socket motherboard and it will support nearly 100 Gb of memory! The other EVGA Products that caught our eyes were a series of power supplies that EVGA is going to be releasing in 2012!
You'll absolutely like how much detail goes into the design. It's an excellent match for a delicious processor series. Next to being one of the most feature rich X58 products we tested so far, we do believe it has massive tweaking potential as well. If you'd buy this product right now, you'll likely will have to flash the BIOS a couple of times before it has reached it's fullest potential. But I didn't mind and figured it was worth it. Within a couple of weeks, this little diamond won't be so rough any more and though the board already shines ... by then it'll be downright good.
