A couple of weeks back, AMD released the notebook portion of their Llano platform, dubbed ‘Sabine’, which we explained in detail over here. This left many people wondering when the desktop variant of Llano would be released, and how it would perform compared to the latest offerings from Intel.

If you've been holding out for AMD's latest chipset and its 42 lovely lanes of aggregate PCI Express 2.0 bandwidth, this may just be the budget-oriented motherboard you've been searching for. Meet the Biostar TA890FXE motherboard, an AMD 890FX platform that eschews tons of frilly extra's for a core feature set and competitive sticker price. Naturally overclocking friendly, Biostar have added core unlocking into the BIOS on this board so up to five cores may be unlocked from certain AMD triple or quad-core CPU models. The usual overclocking caveats apply in full force, or course, but if you do your research and pick up the right chip, this motherboard has the tools to enable you to unlock all working cores. About the only feature the Biostar TA890FXE motherboard skimps on is USB 3.0 - it just doesn't have it.

The AMD Lynx Platform comes at a decent price and offers DX11 compatible integrated graphics, which is more than enough for performing some of the daily tasks or watching HD multimedia content. For increasing the 3D performance even further, we can either overclock the APU or buy a separate graphics card from the supported models (RADEON HD 6400, 6500 or 6600 Series).

The last mITX board we looked at carried the A75 based AMD chipset and it's the perfect chipset for this kind of platform, as it's awesome for those cheaper systems. The one before that used the H67 chipset and while a good chipset, it never got the attention that the P67 did, nor the new Z68.

This is our second of two reviews today, focusing on the official launch of AMD’s A10 5800K when paired up with partner motherboards. In our other review we have paired up the new AMD APU with a high end AMD discrete graphics card to see how it compares against a Core i3 and Core i7 system. Many people say that you don’t need an ultra high end processor just for gaming so we though it was interesting to specifically cover that topic. The review you are reading now however concentrates on the onboard HD 7660D graphics. Is 1080p gaming finally a possibility if don’t want to buy a discrete card?

We have been hearing a lot about Intel’s 3rd generation Core processors and the Z77 chipset. The Z77 chipset is made to be an upgrade from the current Z68 chipset. Using many of the same technologies as the Z68 chipset the Z77 also adds support for the Virtu Universal MVP, native USB 3.0 support, Smart Connect and Rapid Start. Today we are taking a look at our first motherboard based on the Intel Z77 chipset the Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H. This motherboard is one of the twelve Z77 motherboards Gigabyte has announced. It is set to be their mainstream Z77 offering so let’s just right in and take a look.

Whether that's a USB flash drive that we carry around with us or a portable hard drive which we use for the transfer of large chunks of data there's no doubt that portable storage devices have become part of our daily lives. The same can be said about tablets and although they haven't been around for nearly as much as USB flash drives i know many people who can't return back to the way things were prior to them getting their first tablet. Up until recently in the market one could find numerous USB flash drives of all sizes and capacities by many manufacturers which could be used with tablets either featuring full sized USB connectors or with the help of USB to microUSB adapters sold separately. It didn't take long however for that to become a serious problem when tablet manufacturers ceased support for full sized USB connectors (it was a necessary move to make tablets thinner) and since USB to micro USB adapters where never very popular to begin with a solution was needed. Kingston is amongst the very few USB drive manufacturers to take care of that issue with their latest DataTraveler MicroDuo OTG USB Flash Drive.
