Today PCSTATS has a real treat for you - the ECS Z77H2-A2X Black Edition Golden motherboard! Every metallic surface on this board is gold plated so it's got quite the 'bling' factor going for it. The reason for all the gold is that 2012 is the year of the Dragon in the Chinese zodiac calender, making this a very auspicious time. ECS's Z77H2-A2X motherboard is built around the Intel Z77 chipset and primed for Intel's 22nm 3rd Gen. Intel Core i3/i5/i7 'Ivy Bridge' processors.

The Gigabyte G1.Sniper M3 is a high-end socket 1155 motherboard targeted to the "Ivy Bridge" processors (third-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors), using the microATX form factor. Let's see what the Gigabyte G1.Sniper M3 has to offer.

In April we published a round-up of 20 motherboards with Z77 chipsets compatible with the new Intel Ivy Bridge processors. Those CPUs weren't available yet at the time so we had to do the tests with the previous generation Sandy Bridge processors. Almost three months have passed in the meantime, and we now have 32 Z77 motherboards in our test lab along with Ivy Bridge processors. We tested every motherboard all over again, with an up-to-date BIOS and with an Core i7 3770K Ivy Bridge processor.

It's extremely easy to carry around gigabytes of data on storage devices in our pockets or bags and it's equally as easy to have that storage device lost or stolen. All the more reason to protect that data by using a device that secures your data without the hassle of soulutions that get in the way. Kingston's DataTraveler Locker+ G2 USB 2.0 flash drive is well suited to protect your data at a reasonable price - but will it come at the expense of performance? Read on to see.

ASUS's Republic of Gamers boards are advertised as gaming-oriented boards, yet they also have a deadly alter ego which caters to the extreme overclocking hobbyist (à la Batman-Bruce Wayne). Today we explore the reasons why the sub-US$200 mATX Maximus V GENE (Z77) has a cult following among enthusiasts these days and also put an Ivy Bridge 3770K under SS Phase Change cooling.

Gigabyte G1 Killer Sniper 3 Gaming Motherboard The G1 Sniper 3 is one of handful of motherboards aimed at satisfying the needs of overclocking, gaming and hardware enthusiasts at the same time. While this group may be small by comparison the things they look for in a motherboard can be rather specific and sometimes downright crazy.

The latest chipset from Intel, the Z77, has been around for a little while now and has certainly spurred a lot of interest by aftermarket motherboard manufacturers. Little actually changed between the Z68 chipset and the Z77 chipset. Z77 added Smart connect to let you receive emails while your computer is asleep and Rapid Start to speed up boot times. With so little changing, it is up to the manufacturers to pack their motherboards so full of features that they stand out above the rest of the competition. That is exactly what Biostar has done with the Hi-Fi Z77X.

In October last year AMD released the FX8150 Black Edition 8 Core processor which met with a mixed reception. While the chip delivered good performance, it was priced too high and couldn’t compete against equivalent Intel processors.
