Motherboards
One thing about the Sandy Bridge launch that has been different about any other CPU launch that I have covered has been how many motherboards were launched at the same time. I was shocked at the number that came in even before the CPUs arrived. Still, it is a good thing in most respects as it gives you plenty of choices unlike a few other CPU launches that I can think of.
Motherboards
Let's take a look at one of the first socket 1155 motherboards that will reach the market, the ASUS P8P67 Deluxe, based on the forthcoming P67 chipset for future Intel processors based on the "Sandy Bridge" architecture. The highlights of this motherboard include three PCI Express x16 slots, four USB 3.0 ports, four SATA-600 ports, BlueTooth 2.1 + EDR interface, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, and a high-end voltage regulator circuit.
Motherboards
What we liked about the P8P67 Deluxe: quite rich functionality, compact and efficient cooling system, convenient layout, high-quality CPU VRM, useful proprietary technologies and tools, good accessory bundle.

In the coming months Intel will be refreshing their CPU and chipset ranges, introducing new models with enhanced specifications. Currently the performance of those products is under NDA however motherboard manufacturers have been given permission to preview their new products, based around the upcoming chipsets. Today we have a quick preview of one such board, the Asus P8P67 Deluxe.
Motherboards
In the short time since Intel released Sandy Bridge earlier this month, we have seen multiple new boards supporting all-new features from several different manufacturers. ASUS were among the first to launch with Intel, offering several different P67 / H67 motherboards to cover every segment of the market. Today we will be taking a look at the P8P67 EVO, one of nine new P67 Express motherboards from the Taiwan industry giant.
Motherboards
The P8P67 Evo is a very unique motherboard in that it comes from a line of mainstream motherboards with features normally reserved for higher end enthusiast models. Features such as a digital PWM and hardware based system tuning are generally expensive and difficult to implement so most builders avoid using them except on the boutique level

The ASUS P8P67 EVO is an EVOlutionary leap over previous motherboards, and introduces several new features such as the long-awaited UEFI BIOS, Digi+VRM digital power management, Bluetooth remote overclocking control, and ASUS HyperDuo technology that combines a HDD with SSD to create a hybrid storage drive. Despite its many new features, the ASUS P8P67 EVO motherboard is only one half of the equation. Designed as the performance platform for mainstream enthusiasts, the P67 series unlocks and multiplies performance with Intel Core-i3/i5/i7 'Sandy Bridge' processors. In this article, Benchmark Reviews will explore the ASUS P8P67 EVO motherboard and test its overclocking limits with the unlocked Sandy Bridge Intel Core i7-2600K CPU.

As regular readers of KitGuru will already know, Intel will be releasing their new processors and chipsets shortly. We have already covered several upcoming motherboards from Asus, but they sent us a P8P67 for a sneak peak and photo gallery for our readers. This product is based around the P67 Express Chipset. We can’t yet give you any insights into performance as we are under strict NDA but we took a nice series of shots with a high end SLR camera.
