Zotac International was the first brand to launch a Mini-ITX H55 based motherboard back in January 2010. Other brands such as ECS Elitegroup and GIGABYTE followed the trend by launching their own Mini-ITX products, and they seem to be selling well. Here at Benchmark Reviews, we've already admitted our secret affair with HTPCs, and this time, we're testing the latest H55 ITX product available: the Zotac H55-ITX-C-E. This mini-board comes with USB 3.0 support and 6 S-ATA ports against 4 ports included in the competition. Zotac's the only brand to include not one, but two WiFi Antennas and a better PCB layout. Benchmark Reviews tests the Zotac H55ITX-C-E Mini ITX Motherboard to check performance, functionality and overclocking capabilities within this newer version.

The Gigabyte X58-USB3 motherboard is a socket 1366 model featuring two USB 3.0 ports, six memory sockets, and three PCI Express x16 slots. Let's take a look at it.

As we recently said, in motherboards it’s all about the features. After all, you are getting the same basic chipsets across each market segment (X58, P55, H5x, 890, etc.). Because of this the performance envelope is something like 5-10% difference on average. True, there are some extreme cases where you might see as much as 20%, but those are going to be very expensive products.

Today we are taking a look at their Sabertooth X58 motherboard. This product boasts that it is built all with long life components that have been certified to U.S. military standards by a third party agency. Of course, in being an ASUS product that is not all you are getting; you are also getting a unique board level cooling system which has been coated by ceramics to improve cooling, and the usual laundry list of ASUS common features.

Compact motherboards based on feature-rich high-performance integrated chipsets are often the optimal choice for an affordable home PC. The integrated graphics core let you play games (on reduced settings, though), but you can also install an external graphics card. Just remember to provide enough enclosure space for additional cooling, because the PSU fan might just not be enough.

Not all that long ago ASUS was looking for a name to put on their top-of-the-line products. They sent out an e-mail to journalists, enthusiasts and customers (some of which fell into all three groups) asking what we thought this name should be. The overwhelming choice was Republic of Gamers. To be honest with you, it was the only real choice (the other one was bad enough that I do not even remember it). From that day forward, if a product had the ROG logo on it you knew you were getting a top notch piece of hardware.

It is very difficult to classify a MicroATX motherboard; do you consider it a mainstream component for business or multimedia systems or say something like "it's perfect for HTPC"? In the case of the GA-880GMA-UD2H we might contend it is both.
