For quite a while now ASUS’s Republic of Gamers (ROG) motherboards have been the top of the line motherboards which offer very high-end and unique hardware and software features. The top of the line Maximus VI Extreme is currently selling for $399.99, which is quite a lot to just pay for a motherboard. Per la serie di schede madri Z87, dedicate alle CPU con la nuova architettura Haswell, MSI propone quest’anno ben tre modelli: La MPOWER, la MPOWER MAX e la XPOWER. Oggi analizzeremo la MPOWER MAX, un modello destinato agli overclocker più esigenti, che non intendono fare però utilizzare più di due schede video. The most striking aspect of the Z87 Extreme11/ac is its 22 SATA ports. 16 of them can be used for professional SAS drives and are provided by LSI SAS3008 controllers. Two of the 22 ports are combined with two mSATA ports, located between the PCI-Express slots. Thanks to a PLX 8747 chip the board is suitable for both 4-way Crossfire and 4-way SLI.
